CM3D is actually not that bad looking still. Obviously CM3D2 looks better, but CM3D is still enjoyable. Check out this dance (I hope they port it soon, tired of moe moe)

My theory is that CMO was KISS porting CM3D as closely as possible to the Unity engine, which required a fuckton of work. They did some graphics enhancements and took advantage of the engine during this. Then, when CMO was failing due to bad design and always online, they overhauled it a bit with new textures, new shaders, and a new UI and called it CM3D2. Some of the stages (stage, outdoor pool) between CMO and CM3D2 look virtually identical. So, they've managed to get some serious mileage out of their assets.
The cool part is that CM3D2 is a big success with a huge community (for an eroge), so hopefully KISS will build something from scratch for CM3D3 or whatever instead of recycling assets and it will look awesome

Does anyone actually use the presets from http://no-info.no-ip.info/cm3d2/ ? I tried a couple and they required mods that I don't have, and I can't find any sort of information about what mods are required by a preset. Am I missing something obvious here?

I do not like the main story, so I like to think that the game world is:

I use a few of the earlier ones that work with no mods
Like you say, some of them (maybe most of the new ones) use mods, and the cards don't tell you which mods they use, unlike the AA2 db where cards usually specify every single mod you need to get that card working and sometimes even have mega links to obscure mods or shit not in the HEXA packs
This kind of makes the CM3D2 database somewhat useless

2) how do I choose all poses in photo mode and MultipleMaids? It seems a lot of the lewd poses are missing.

Let me guess, you're looking at the mod catalog and you see there are 5 different ''multiblemaid'' mods.
the ''d'' means they are in the d group as opposed to a or b, it has something to do with the website they are uploaded on, but I can't decipher moonrunes.
86 just means it's number 86 mod in that group
so D 86 as opposed to B 10.it's there so you can identify what mod you want to download on uploader.jp
and before you ask, no I don't know which of those mods are the one you should get, but if you find out, let me know.

some stuff not in there for the clothing feature in new versions:
Click on the cube of each maid of fuselage / props while holding down the [Z] You can move back and forth and left and right drag.
Up and down move in while holding down the [Z + Ctrl].
And lateral rotation in drag [Z + Shift] and the left and right.
[X] and X by dragging up, down, left, or right, to rotate the Z-axis. [X] and initializes it with the double-click.
[X + Shift] and will rotate the Y-axis by dragging to the left or right.
[C] and expansion by dragging up and down, to shrink. [C] and initializes it with the double-click.
[A] and the operation panel Click the body of the maid, to display the expression panel Click the head.
[D] and then delete click the props of the cube.

Is this supposed to have download links for the mods? Most posts don't seem to have anything, not even references to filenames. A few have a twitter link as "credits", and the twitter link has a download link, but the rest... I don't get it.
