Why do some people say tether grabs are reactable? Most of them are frame 12, but since there is a 7 frame delay in this game, you only have five frames left where you can react. Spot dodge is intangible from frame 3, meaning you must have reacted before the tether grab has been our for 2 frames, and jumpsquatting takes way too many frames. Anyone who says it's reaction are bullshitting, it's all prediction.

Keep playing, experiment with all of your moves and your movement options, see what works. Also see what your opponent likes doing in certain situations, when they like to air dodge, roll or whatever, what they do in response to your attacks and movement.
Figuring out your opponent is the most important thing. If you can constantly avoid their attacks, by being out of range or blocking or anything, and you can keep racking up damage on them, it won't matter that they or you can do perfect pivots or anything.

I like Roy a lot, he's nimble and hits like a truck, has some decent strings, I just think he can't approach. Shulk is tons of fun, but I feel like his biggest strength is honestly matchup unfamiliarity. Once you see past his flashy Monados, his lag and abysmal startup render him obsolete. Palutena I could definitely see moving up, especially with people like Prince Ramen repping her.

I know he's okay, but I see him as the lowest of high tier, maybe. He's got a lot of bad matchups, and an uncomfortable amount of somewhat even matchups. He mostly beats heavies if you know how to keep the pressure on. I'm sure there are a few matchups against top tiers that are decent for Villy, but it's not great mostly.

dtilt is what i consider to be the most "effective" tilt due to its ability to poke careless dodge spammers
ftilt is super fucking slow and requires you to be really careful with landing it right
utilt is an okay anti air option but not too great against small frames
can be a good surprise kill at high (~150% + some rage) though

Mario's up smash such a dumb goddamn move. It really says something when top Marios literally spam it and get kills with it -- the frame data, power and invincibility are way too much. Smash attacks should be for hard reads and punishes, not to toss out in neutral in the warranted hopes someone will run into them. Every time a Mario in high level play gets a kill by just usmashing till it connects it boils my blood a little.
