Because there are always "obviously" never any good ways to deal with a passive bash. And heroes with passive bashes are too OP to not be made shit.
This crusade started probably before you even started playing, when the first shitter lost to a 3 basher void and decided to make it his life's work to make such heroes permanently shit.

Lion should prio a blink, the instant cast time on his hex is fantastic. A value point in mana drain in the laning stage runs most people off for a bit to break the link, if it's a nuker you can prioritize it a bit more. usually only get one in hex for the first while, because the time doesn't help as much for the mana cost. Earth spike can be ground targeted for slightly further range, but hero cast it can't miss.
Just go spike into hex, into spike, drain and then get at least 2-3 in drain before going back into hex.
