Hi /hg/. I'm looking for some advice.
I played 3 (never had an original Xbox), ODST, and Reach and enjoyed the hell out of them. However, going off to college made me stop playing entirely due to the terrible dorm internet, further compounded by everything I saw about Halo 4 looking terrible and my growing hatred of Microsoft.
However, after years of playing shitty games where you're actively forced to depend on various flavors of retarded teammates, I've started to miss Halo multiplayer enough to sell out. Has it changed too much since then? I know they fucked with scoring a little and I'm sure there are new mechanics, but if it still has the balance and feel of Halo, I'm considering dropping some money for an xbone.

Personally i don't think it's fair to judge a game from youtube videos and comments. Halo 4 is a good game that took a lot of risky decisions and that people hate it and call it a non.halo game.
It seems you're mostly interested in multplayer so i think you'll like Halo 5. TMCC also works better now, it's a good option if you want a classic experience.
In conclusion i think right now is the best time to return to Halo, there's a big update coming tomorrow with a full week of free Halo 5 so yeah, i say you should go for it.
