a? edition
>Can the game be considered a full release?
No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state. The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective. There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game.

>Are there big issues with the game?
Bugs and instability are still real and frequent problems, as with every product still in beta. Ask in thread for details.

>What are the devs doing?
The most recent update (1.1) was supposedly going to bring a complete overhaul of the GUI, be 64bit friendly, have a refined physics/heating/aero model and generally perform better. While achieving some of these goals, the game is now more unstable than ever, with many users being unable to use the game at all. An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U, with a release deadline that seems to keep slipping.

>Should I buy the game?
KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!". The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics. The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you should torrent the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.

Hey /kspg/, I've been thinking about MAN and I've come to a conclusion that MAN is likely a false-flagging squad shill.

MAN constantly talks bad about squad, to the extent where he says ridiculous and improbable things like >>146901495 . Of course, this stuff would normally be welcome in kspg, but the obnoxious frequency that he does it at coupled with the fallacious claims he makes causes us to shun this type of behavior (such as telling him to fuck off).

This also has the effect of changing our perceptions on the criticism of Squad. Now that MAN's here spamming his garbage, if somebody berates squad, we not only subconsciously make the association between that and MAN but we also have had on many occasions accused others of being MAN.

We also have the issue of how MAN has behaved in the community in regards to Squad. It'd be nice if we got the community as a whole informed about how Squad is actually based in the Netherlands, how they have millions of dollars yet the game is still so shit, and many other things, right? Except that now that MAN constantly spams his copypasta novels about these things and outrageous embezzlement shit both here and the subreddit, these topics can no longer be expressed here, the subreddit, and the forum without both the members of those communities and their moderators associating those topics to MAN, and therefore being outright ignored or removed.

Essentially, MAN's presence has effectively caused any and all discussion of Squad's business practices and management to be associated with his cancerous character, therefore stifling any discussion of it. Not only that, but MAN also manages to tear /kspg/ apart, and we've been known as the only kerbal community that does not blindly praise the game and instead expresses distaste. The end result of both of these are positive to Squad, so it'd make sense to suggest that MAN is nothing more than a false-flagging Squad shill.

NASCAR Whelen euro series
It's basically cars based on late 90s/early 00s actual NASCAR rules repurposed with slightly updated hardware and safety gear.
They have low power (400-something HP), a bigass carburettor, beam rear axle, glass fibre bodywork and the kind of low tech stuff you would expect from American "race cars" from two decades ago. They use them as a sort of training ground for drivers aiming for some actual NASCAR racing on the other side of the ocean.

All in all it's fun, they hit each other like there is no tomorrow, there is a surprisingly high public attendance and the organisers give us free beers. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed and, surprisingly enough, they also race those cars on tracks that have both left and right turns

The cars are all identical except for the front bumper and the headlight/grille stickers, some look like mustangs and some look like Chevy SS (Cobalts I guess? They don't sell those here in yurop), the rest is the same for everyone.

And for the complexity: it's basically non existent, it's ancient tech and it's very simple, there are only a handful of things you can change for the set up as opposed to the dozens if not hundreds of a proto.

However, I found that sushi in the mainland US is ultra shit. They add extra bullshit like cream cheese and sauces to the sushi, making it taste too sweet and fat. They even add cream cheese to sushi here, absolutely disgusting.

I'm not gonna physicspost
Even though I do think more people should know about particles transfer messages to one another and how it affects literally everything we see. We see glass is transparent because of this phenomenon.

Physics is so damn exciting, though. I don't know why so many people are disinterested in the subject. I think it is the shitty highschool teachers that turn off kids on math that kills everyone's interest in physics. Math isn't any harder than any subject but grade school teachers make it so damn boring that everyone loses interest in it before college.

You know speaking of math, why the FUCK do they teach Calculus in highschool over statistics? Calculus is super awesome but statistics can be more easily applied to every day happenings.
>>
>>146933926
>You know speaking of math, why the FUCK do they teach Calculus in highschool over statistics? Calculus is super awesome but statistics can be more easily applied to every day happenings.

Because they Calculus looks better on paper to the colleges than Statistics.
That, and some schools offer the earning of college credits for some classes, calculus being one of the.

I agree about the shitty teachers part. I hated my 10th grade Physics class simply because the teacher was a grade A asshole, but I couldnt opt out of his class because if I did they'd kick me out of the magnet program I was in, and damnit I liked it there.

mathematics.
> I think it is the shitty highschool teachers that turn off kids on math
100% definitely. Although I was never a star pupil, it was a particularly bad teacher that shot down my chance at just barely crossing into an above-average grade in maths.
>Math isn't any harder than any subject
I disagree with this. I don't like maths because you can't bullshit maths. In English classes you can just throw together words and scrape a pass, or even actually come to something close to an interesting observation by accident. Not in maths. If you don't know, you don't know. At best you might be able to cheat a point by writing an equation. You can't pass an exam like that.

Also even since I was a kid, I resented writing out my working because of how my thought patterns tend to fudge things until I realize I'm right. When I did physics, I just put the working in backwards (i.e. answer the question, then go back and figure out how I got that number.)

>why the FUCK do they teach Calculus in highschool over statistics?
Being a Britbong, I never got far enough to be taught calculus. Always felt intellectually inferior when Americans talked about it. (At least in my School, it was basically left until you started getting into advanced "90% of people will never need to know this" stuff.)

If you don't know, you don't know. At best you might be able to cheat a point by writing an equation. You can't pass an exam like that.

The thing is you get graded based off what your teacher teaches you. My hardest math class I ever took was my real analysis class in undergrad. By the time I took the class I had a solid grasp on calculus and knew how to solve many problems that were presented by the instructor, but I got things wrong because I couldn't explain the why. I literally had to prove why 1 + 1 = 2, which really isn't as easy as you think. There is actually a famous 300+ page proof for that exact problem. That proof is so long because you need to learn basic things about mathematics such as sets, though.

The way math is taught is usually the teacher giving you some arcane equations to memorize and not telling you why. Math has been devolved into nothing more than memorizing equations and plugging in numbers. Math is just as fluid as English where there are multiple ways to get the same product. However, math is almost universally taught in an ultra rigid way, which turns off anyone who understands the subject better using other methods.

I made a point to teach math to my niece in a natural way (she knows basic things such as to know what an intersection, union, and disjoint set is) and she loves the ever loving fuck out of the subject.

OH and a big part of reading mathematical papers is just learning the language that is used. Books try to be as rigorous as possible, which kinda defeats the purpose because it confuses the fuck out of anyone who is learning. I remember absolutely hating reading my Calc I book because I didn't know the bullshit mathematical language at the time. I think that is just form the circle jerk of mathematicians. Imagine a bunch of autists who nitpick literally everything and you got the math community. I think the fact that mathematical science is pretty much run by autists turns off a lot of people as well because they make it hard as fuck for anyone to get into the subject. I literally never met a single mathematician who wasn't a weird ass fucker. Weirdness is a rather subjective thing, though.

The image I posted in that post basically says if you take one object and place it next to another, you get two objects. That is basically the english translation of the autistic language that mathematicians use.

Oh, let me expound on how autistic mathematicians are. Lets take the following two sentences:

(1) I would love to go to the beach today.
(2) I wouldn't mind going to the beach.

Any sane person would determine that from those sentences that the person would want to go to the beach and be done with it. But a mathematichian, ho ho ho, a mathematician would think those two sentences as two completely seperate things. Sentence (1) expresses a desire to go to the beach today and today only. Sentence (2) expresses the desire to go to the beach on any day. In sentence (2), perhaps going to McDonalds is just as fine as going to the beach. The nitpicking continues from there. To the agerage person, this is absolutely insane. Just go to the fucking beach!

This is why they have their autistic ass language that uses greek symbols, to get rid of any ambiguity. Peer review enforces this language, which is what makes textbooks so hard to read if you do not understand their autistic language. In the end it defeats the purpose of learning because the student just stays confused because of the stupid ass circlejerk in the math community.

>>146936706

Yep! Which is why I said it is not really any harder than any other subject.

If the interval is an element of the reals, why is it limited to +=3278? I am assuming this is something to do with computers since 65536 is 2^16.

From my drunking analysis, this is for exploting a bug in a Mario video game?!?!? This is a good formal definition, but it wouldn't apply to anyone who isn't creating levels. At the end of the day, though, this is a waste of time because if you are going this far into the mathematics of a game engine you might as well create your own.

His definition 1 doesn't make sense to me. A path cannot be differential if it is piecewise. It is differentiable if you put it in his defined space, so maybe that is what he meant? If the boundary points are +-2^15 then anything outside of it does not exist if you are in that space.

Anyway, what he is saying is kinda simple. Based off what he is saying the mario world is limited to 16 bits, but 15 bits are really only used for movement? If Mario moves in a specific part in of the "Scuttlebug" space, that space moves into the space that Mario can move on. This is because the home of the scuttlebug transforms into the mario space.

His definition of this space is complex and not really rigorous. As someone who has no idea s to what the hell he is talking about, that description brings more questions than answers. Will probably be good enough for anyone who is familiar with Mario 64.

Cost and TWR are the main advantages of SRBs.
They help keeping the part count low and their shitty Isp is more than balanced by their cost and their high thrust.
You can have a lighter core because of SRBs, so you can get more deltaV (or the same deltaV with a smaller/cheaper package) when you start using it.

We had a great community on russian /space/ board on 2ch, good slow threads full of sweet autistic content, few of them a month. It was a nice tradition to have it there.

And then new mod came, and being a little bitch (and having a retarded fascist mod friend from vg) he started making vote threads on /discussions/ to remove kspg from /spc/ board "because its wrong content on slow board", "it makes a board too fast", "games should be in vg", most ridiculous being "airplanes dont belong in /spc/". At the same time he did not object to space engineers (!) orbiter or space engine, which still have general threads in his now almost dead board. His fascist mod friend from /weeb/moba/ (also known as /vg/) made a new kspg as a "refuge" - but instantly started banning people for "wrong content" like pony mods or weapons. This of course made people extremely butthurt and they spread out to userboards, Grand Strategy Generals, made a dozen butthurted threads on discussions.

But overall this killed the community. Me and maybe three other people still KSP there, but threads are dying, and will die off completely in the summer.

Nobody got happier, discussion on /spc/ degraded, board became slow and dead, there is no more a community for one of the best games about space, there is no way to easily educate people on space mechanics, the mods are still little fascist fags who need to be shot, democracy and voting still mean jack shit.

All because some little shit wanted to control his little fief, and supreme power did not act because fags willing to moderate are in short enough supply.

Fuck everything, ksp is dead.

To each their own I guess, but weapons in KSP are as pointless as prop engines

I mean, nobody stops you from doing that just like nobody stops me from buying call of duty to see if I can get good laptimes running in circles around maps, but I'm still using the wrong game to do that

you're not fooling anyone. We all know a mod forced this thread into existence by deleting half a dozen threads, many for no reason and with no warning, and once this abortion dies we will go back to actively exposing Squad's lies and embezzlement.

Delete my post if I'm right. In the meantime enjoy your nothing-adding ksp spam.

>your game content is nonconforming to regulations

Actually, kindly fuck off. That's exactly the premise of why /kspg/ was killed by a little bitch ass fascist mod of /spc/ on 2ch.
I see you're trying to mitigate it with "duh, nobody stops you" and "to each their own" but now I know where this always goes.

Don't. Take a chill pill and don't finish the sentence. Let me be.
