Best tool against pretty much every monster is to spam dodge (not roll). You can easily whittle down high levels monsters by just smacking them a few times, dodging to the side, repeat ad nauseam.
Honestly though, I'd recommend just coming back to deal with the wraith later. Loot is scaled but zones aren't, meaning you're putting in a shit load of extra effort for level 8 gear.

You should really always try to use the slowmo and as for that it's really a matter of learning the timing.
I tried to find a good video that would showcase it but none really did, so I don't know what to tell you. You need to get a feel for the hitbox on the sword. It's kind of janky. You need to let go of your mouse button with a slight delay in my experience. Time the follow through with your approach while accounting for the timing of the animation.
Once you know the timing you should be able to land it pretty damn consistently. I can when I'm on the ball, even at high speeds.

Did you not understand Ciri's characterization in the game? I have read the books, yes, and I know that book Ciri would want to be a witcher. But by the time the game rolls around, she's changed. Being around her mentor and savior Avallac'h changed her outlook on life. The finale of the game revolves around the fact that she now wants to save the entire world and has practicing for that exact purpose, she's gone through character development since the books. So yes, for game Ciri becoming an empress would be the most natural next step. This way she can keep helping more people than she ever could as a witcheress.

I hear you. I didn't expect anything from HoS so it was a pleasant surprise when it turned out to be so good (I didn't mind the ending that much because it was a shorter story anyway). But I had high hopes for BnW and while Toussaint was big and beautiful, it felt like it didn't have enough meaningful content to justify its size. I expected some oomph, some cool twist or reveal to thrill me, but once Anna Henrietta mentioned her sister and the curse of the black sun, I knew it was gonna be a rehash of Renfri's story from the books. Which was a double disappointment especially because it wasn't done that well and ended up being rushed.
I agree that having Yen there was great and the dialogue with her was fun, but it's disappointing that you couldn't also have Ciri there and finally feel like the family was together again. I feel like BnW didn't deserve all the praise it got, and conversely HoS deserved more recognition than it got.

Hearts of Stone was wonderful, both because it built on the existing Novigrad map beautifully and because it was masterfully done from a writing standpoint, with the arguable exceptions of Shani being a bit rushed and O'Dimm being a bit too vague and sharing in a bit of a rushed reveal.
Blood and Wine is great, too, but in my opinion it almost feels like it could use an Enhanced Edition, like what Witcher 2 got. Or, in other words, the "oh shit we fucked up half the content of the end" edition: give us some Ciri, give us some Syanna, let's see both Geralt's family and Anna's family together and happy again, if we got that path. Give us the ACTUAL happy ending Geralt said he wanted to see, with no holds barred, for the final ride out.

They should have cut the map in half, the right side of it was barely utilized anyway by the actual story, added more depth to the main story, Syanna and Dettlaff, avoided the 3 day timeskip, fleshed out the unseen elder's path and at the end have us throw a small party with our old friends. I guess it's just the wasted potential that kinda pisses me off, it's not like CDPR didn't know how to do it better, but for whatever reason they just decided that fleshing out the world was more important than the story.

I loved Origins and I still do, but after seeing that BW turned DA2 into a quick cash-grab I haven't even touched it until last year. Though I only did a playthrough to understand Inquisiton's story better, it turned out to be an enjoyable ARPG with a Dragon Age skin on it.
As for Inquisition, I had a strong pre-concept about how it's going to turn out and (unfortunately) I nailed it. As it's a console-oriented offline MMO with shallow RPG elements, I simply can't squeeze out a single playthrough from it. Tried several times, and I just can't.

Sure, is ok, gameplay is not bad and all but... God, the first chapter is horrible. Is literally 50% of the game.
And all the houses, all the caves, all the mines, etc they are all the same. Is terrible. And the endless waves of enemy appearing from nowhere! You can't plan anything cause you never know what you'll find. You can kill two guys in a room and Blam! Fucking magic, 10 guys jump from the roof.
So overall, it feels like a hack n'slash, which is not good if you are making a sequel for a good RPG
Oh, and the companions. Fucking terrible mate. Only Aveline, Varric and your sister/brother are acceptable. The ones you can fuck, coincidence?
