Okay so sthg assuming sega makes an SA3 and they keep knuckles and sonic fairly similar to how they handled in the first two games from a style perspective. I think tails strapped to a mech can work if it's done right. Controls/handling/gameplay and whatnot. I think in my mind, his ideal gameplay is being able to jump in and out of his mech during his levels.

SA1's Tails gameplay, with more of an emphasis on Flight and Agility, probably some slight shooting elements as well. Also Ring Bombs that explode with electricity. But overall, very similar to Sonic, similar enough to be able to race him and win using Flight.
