Spam refresh on the event window (or just open it every now and then) until you see some name on the list. Then pick the name and the server (if you get an error message, try Sirocco because it is probably a BR) and try to add him (spam Add button to increase your "placebo effect" chances). No error messages means it worked, so you just have to wait for your future buddy's confirmation. You can try it with multiple returning players while you wait for one of them to accept you.

Not being able to link every character to 1 guild and FP really do alot of damage on this game's community. Every guild I join is dead because once people finish the FP bar on the character in the guild they have no reason to stay logged on to it. I honestly don't know why they're so stingy about fucking EVERYTHING. I would play MORE if I knew I could get things in a reasonable amount of time. Any time I seriously plan to grind I get discouraged by the ridiculous odds.
