You can turn off sprinting in the mod options, I strongly recommend it. The tourney participants all running around like fucking sanic is bullshit. Beyond that you just need togit gud.

I'm wondering what your problem with the tourny system is.
I'm pretty sure it's the same one used in Floris, and I have no problem winning in that one, with 6+ points/match easily (I fight in 4 teams of 8) - and I don't have to killsteal to get points.
Maybe it's because I have it so the tournament level scales with me? I dunno if that's an option in Silverstag.
Then again, I also tend to not fight alongside allies because I acknowledge that they CAN steal my points, but fighting alongside allies has the benefits of you're likely to survive + win, which itself is worth 3 points. Beyond that, it seems like a pretty reasonable tournament environment.
I dunno, I feel like it's vastly an improvement on the vanilla tournament system which is just "team elimination". Kind of baffled anybody could dislike the new one, compared to the old one.

Guys! I'm playing the game for the first time, and already read the imagur guide and I usually have it at hand. The question I have is: when do you think is a good time to start your own kingdom?
It seems to me the best strategy is to help your current kingdom as much as possible and try to hoard all the fiefs you can. I'm not sure though, because I don't know the chances of you actually getting the fief. Also I don't know at which rate you get vassals and how many soldiers they usually bring. Currently I have a 105 men cap, but I guess I can manage if I can get 400 more from my vassals.

Grain in villages around Dhirim is very cheap, buy iron from Curaw, spices from Khergits (Narra it is, probably), salt and fish from Wercheg.
Do mountain bandit lair quest, Count Matheas gives that, it's great cash, exp and renown with little risk.
