Ephinea has more customization options and a sandbox mode if you want to skip the grinding. Also has a PSO2 style loot system if you want to.
Ultima has a lot of content that is very RA oriented, and a lot of weird unique weapons. 3x xp and rare enemy spawn, very easy to get into and level for that reason. It's what I've been playing lately and it's acceptable.

They are 50 photon spheres apiece at the photon drop exchange shop. Alternatively, you could do Klariskrays' episode 3 client orders, but those are a pain to unlock and do in the first place.

You can get Lv. 1s of them all from the photon drop exchange shop for 1 photon crystal each. You can buy up to level 10 from the player shops, but to get 11 or higher you'll actually need to venture out and play either ultimate quest or Kuron Exploration XH.

Honestly, goron is the easiest of the final spawns to solo. I've solo'd that quest a lot and I've always had much more trouble with bayari+knight gear combo than I ever had with him.

not that guy, i solo the quest sometimes too and i can understand where he's coming from because the rare goron in that can one shot you if you're not careful, sometimes you just attack and he misses everything and it goes well, but the sphere attack can shotgun you
