Yeah, pump Arc and kill Cleric and Gasgoine with Oil Urns and Molatovs, then destroy BSB with Flamesprayer and more Oil Urns/Molatovs.
After that get your 9% Waning Fire Gem from Church Workshop, and go into the first chalice and get two Fire Radials, Hotdog will give you one and the flaming-weapon Pthumerians can be farmed for Cursed ones really easily (theres a spot on Layer 2 that has two of them within 5 seconds of the lamp).
After that you will plow through Amelia, Hemwick and the Forest. Which lets you acsess Lecture Hall for Auger of Eribritas and Cainhurst for Executioner Gloves. You can go into the DLC if you want, but it will be very hard, if you can beat Ludwig and Maria you'll get Blacksy Eye and Accursed Brew which are helpful.
You can keep doing Chalices for better and better Fire Radials (Depth 3 gives 16.5%), putting the Forbidden Woods Arcane Triangle and the Shitty Nourishing you get from Chalice Rom on a Cane can work well, or a Bolt Radial (Nightmare Frontier) and that same Nourishing on another Saw weapon.

I honestly love DeS PvP to death and back, in part because of its imbalances. Each encounter is off-the-walls entertaining, much like Bloodborne, actually. This is coming from someone that doesn't use the "OP" weapons (at least as far as I know). My favorite weapon in that game to use in both PvE and PvP is the LSoM. The DeS version of that sword is by far my favorite out of any gamefollowed by DaS1, then BB, not that it matters.
I'd really love to find people to go back to DeS PvP with, but /dsg/ shits on pretty much everything that's no DaS1 and nowhere else cares about the game anymore.

You *can* toggle knockdowns in Demon's Souls, but vast majority of people, even regular PvP'ers, didn't know that. If you're strafing to the left when you get hit by a knockdown, you can toggle and quickstand from the KD. I don't know the exact timing because I didn't learn of this until after the game was pretty dead and there weren't many people to try it with. But it definitely works.
Kilij you usually don't toggle escape. Kilij is kinda like straightswords in DkS3, I guess? I haven't done much DkS3 PvP, but they do a similar thing where they R1 spam at you, and when you roll away, you're almost guaranteed to get hit out of your roll. And in DeS where damage output is really high, one R1 followed by instability R1 usually means cracked SC.
But yeah, every weapon in DeS feels crazy powerful, even when they're not that good, and it's a big part of what I love about the PvP. Just did some 4-1 PvP the other day and had lots of fun.
LSoS wasn't popular, or very strong, but it wasn't totally unusable. There was one good PvP'er who used it a bit. Curved Sword moveset + huge range is really annoying, and can be dangerous if you underestimate it. But its damage is really bad, so even if you landed three times as many hits as your opponent, you'd probably still lose.
Personally I always stuck with the meta PvP weapons/builds. I thought there was plenty of variety in them. My favorites were 2H katana (not dual-wielded), Dragonbone Smasher, and Knight Sword/BBS. I used pretty much everything at one point or another, though.
Still admiring the Ludwig fight. Just amazing from a game design and art perspective, a great example of mixing mechanics and story. Ludwig himself represents a lot of Bloodborne's core themes and it all comes together beautifully.

Wait wait wait just one damn second. You can toggle knockdowns in DeS? I've spent almost 1k hours in that game and never did it, even when I had toggling down to instinct so I tried it anyway. Is that really true? That blows my mother fucking mind.
As far as toggling the Kilij, what I mean is you can queue up a toggle if you go outspaced or simply missed your attack and are stuck in the animation, which helps you get out after only one or two hits.
Also I was talking about the Large Sword of Moonlight, not the Large Sword of Searching. The Large Sword of Search I imagine is like the Penetrating sword, meaning it has great range but shit damage. The Penetrating Sword can be buffed though and the LSoS can't.
I used the BSS on my first PvP build, but I couldn't stand the reliance on the buff. I could have used the NR after the buff ran out, but that just wasn't my style. I did use LMAO 2 KATS though. Pushlock was never something I used because I deemed it OP and I have a perverted sense of honor that only applies to me, but the quick attacks and extended moveset were fun to use.

DLC is the hardest part of the game, it's best to do it just before the final boss. Although feel free to run around picking up items in the first area, there's some good weapons and cool outfits, plus a bunch of Chunks for upgrading.

Once the beasthood is built up you want to hit more quickly though. Even regular weapons with Beast Blood Pellets can fill up beasthood quickly enough and keep it filled.

Ludwig wasn't curious about the HMLS's origin. He didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth (so to speak). He was simply satisfied to have the protection and guidance of the moonlight with him when out on hunts.
This is in direct opposition to the antagonistic institutions of the game. The Healing Church and Byrgenwerth both committed atrocities in their search for insight. Pretty much every bad thing in Bloodborne is a result of their attempts at ascension.
Ludwig's incurious nature is meant be ennobling by its opposition to these institutions. In an Icarian story about selfish men reaching for the stars, even if it means burning the world around them down, Ludwig is satisfied with what he has. He uses his existing station to better peoples' lives, not for his own gain. But it's also his tragic flaw.
Ludwig was a tool of the Healing Church, and his lack of curiosity is what enabled him to be used by them. Ludwig knew what people thought of his church hunters, but believed them to be noble despite what his detractors said. He believed that the church hunters helped to keep people safe by slaying beasts, and was blind to the fact that they were effectively becoming a state terrorist organization for the Healing Church. And Simon says this, upon giving you the HMLS:

So even the HMLS was taking advantage of Ludwig in some capacity, though it's left ambiguous as to how.
The conclusion drawn by Ludwig's character is that the same trait that allowed him to be heroic, also led to him being taken advantage of. Which is a really bleak implication with an upsetting level of relevance to the real world.
Well I made it to the blood starved beat. I was actually doing pretty well and got him below half health until I ran out of bullets and blood vials.

Oh whoops, LSoM. I found LSoM kind of bothersome to play against. Like I'd be turtling with a shield, and some guy takes it out, so I just two-hand my weapon. Then they'd switch back to their other weapon, so I'd go back to turtling. It was this weird back-and-forth, but it was easier for me to switch from 1H to 2H than it was for them to switch to LSoM and 2H it.
Oh yeah, queue'ing a toggle before getting hit would be useful. That's another thing I didn't learn of until after DeS had mostly died down. I used it a lot in DkS where it was pretty unfair. Zweihander user manages to actually trader attacks with your katana? Toggle backstab them for their troubles.
And yes, quickstanding is really a thing. You have to be strafing, and I *think* you have to be strafing left and it won't work if you strafe right, but I'm not 100% positive on that.
I also don't like BBS's buff reliance, I used KS instead most of the time. It's still more reliant on CW than a lot of physical weapons, but it's not nearly as bad as BBS.

I like to think Moon Presence was manipulating Ludwig through the HMS somehow.
It is implied the sword has a conscience of it's own and that it decides who to show itself to and who to offer gudiance which is "of an elusive sort."

I love the LSoM so much. It looks badass, it has a light equip weight, it's got a single damage type that isn't physical, it's got scaling with an unconventional stat, it goes through mother fucking shields. So many boxes checked for me.
In DkS toggle was retardedly unfair against heavy weapons. Not to mention that 90% of the time heavy weapons were RBS bait. Basically each time a heavy weapon attacked, whether you got hit or not, it was a free BS.
I'm gonna have to look into this quickstanding thing. I've literally never heard of this before.Too bad I'll never be able to use it because no one fucking plays DeS anymore besides me
I don't know what the KS is, but I'm really not a fan of buff reliance. I'm okay with having a buff as a supplement, but the weapon should stand on its own as far as I'm concerned.

Just finished my second playthrough.
One with the rifle spear, the other with Ludwigs Holy Blade.
I have zero sense of direction of where to go asides that cane and tortintus i think it was scale with arcane.
