This game needs better matchmaking algorithms. 5 stacks should never play against 3 stacks, 5 stacks should never be allowed to be ran against a "mixed region" team, which valve could fucking detect with a simple IP check.
Losing gold to pick late is a terrible mechanic. Game should auto-random when time runs out, even in unranked. As it stands, you can't try out new heroes in unranked at all because you get counter picked by supports who don't need the fucking gold anyway.
It's literally a fucking starring contest to see who is willing to lose more gold, the support NEVER picks until the entire other team picks lately. I have not played a last picked invis hero and not had to play against bounty hunter in 2 and a half months. That is not an exaggeration. I've literally not had a Riki, Clinkz, or Sniper game that didn't have a fucking Slardar or Bounty Hunter in it in fucking months.
Including this game, where the fucking slardar waited till 10 seconds before rune spawn to fucking pick.
I'm willing to put up with bad teams, it's even fun to teach people builds and ward spots sometimes, but I'm tired infinite pick time and being matchmade with people I can't communicate with when the other team is literally a stack of english speaking american teenagers sitting in a goddamn discord.
