I've been having trouble installing cia's after moving from menuhax+rxtools to al9h+luma on my o3ds.
Before that, cia files would install really quick using bigbluemenu, but now after the change, every time I install a cia, it reaches a point where it just gets SUPER slow, and I mean, a 1.1gb cia took 2 and a half hours to install.
Sometimes if I shutdown the 3ds in the middle of the installation and start it again, it goes smooth all the way through, or it gets slow only around the 90% mark.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue? I tried every cia installer and they all give me the same trouble, read and write speeds of the sd card are normal (sandisk ultra 32gb class 10) on the computer. I already tried reformatting it making sure I selected 64kb clusters, but still no improvement.
I just want to install cia files without having to leave it overnight even for small games. ;-;

Firstly freeshop is an application in no way different to bittorrent. They are downloading clients. That said the only thing illegal about the whole process is encTitlekeys. Theyre basically product keys anyone can use.

You need to dump the title keys with Decrypt9 (it's a simple menu option, the decrypted ones can be uploaded to the site). This requires being <=9.2 or a9lh already, and I'm not sure there's many reviewers that are willing to risk that. There is a chance that this'll be different in 5 months but it's not super high, people seem to be waiting for EOL now. You can only get actual titlekeys from digital downloads/codes.
It's much more likely they'll be given cartridges, those are far easier to dump. Just loan it for like 30 minutes and run Uncart on it. Uncart doesn't dump any of the cart-unique stuff so it's not really identifiable.
Do keep in mind that companies don't like their shit leaking before release. As in, really don't like. It's the only time you're really risking legal action.

Real quick, my current situation is a 3DS downgraded to 4.2.0, with my Gateway's browserhax into 9.5, which was the newest last time I used my 3DS.
I don't have any of the fancy things I've seen mentioned lately, just games and .cias of various things I was able to find online, like themes from the shop. What's my best option to update this mess to get the awesome features that have come out since? Preferably keeping my saves in-tact.

I'm stuck on section 2, step 3. I don't see an option for it anywhere when I followed the link. Also worth noting that I deleted the luma config.bin because I panicked for a bit and the troubleshoot guide told me that was recommended if the page wasn't loading (Which it wasn't at the time). Pretty sure the two are related, I asked my friend and he said he didn't know.
For region-free .cias, do you just pick a language at the beginning and go with it, and thats the only difference from region locked .cias?

I bought a fat off some guy on ebay that was running cfw. It was on the latest firmware at the time. I decided to upgrade the hard drive, so I took out the old one and put in the new, expecting it to format it, put me back on 3.55 so I could reinstall my cfw.
It says it has to be reformatted and system software has to be reinstalled, and it asks for a usb stick that has the 4.78 update on it.
How would I make it so my system is on 3.55 with my old hard drive, so I can start fresh with my new drive? I don't have a docking station so I can't just copy paste everything over.

That's how ps3's do. Also unless the original cfw is some retarded shit, you can just put the latest cfw on a usb stick and use that. Or you could put back in the original hard drive, downgrade it back to 3.55 if your cfw is that retarded in the first place, then do what you were gonna do (you'd still need the 3.55 pup on a usb stick if you're doing it this way)
