Obviously equipment goes in the damn Armoury (some in inventory, though). I rarely Glamour so no issue there. Consumables I have very few of (I got rid of most of them while leveling a third Job because they were taking up space and their only purpose was to provide +3% bonus), crafting materials go on one Retainer while "old"/sentimental armors go on another Retainer. I can just buy or hunt for leveling armor if I'm inclined to level something else (more like if they introduce another Job that's sub-50) and I'm not a crafter, but when I do craft I just buy the shit straight up and throw away the excess.
Also no furniture, I don't own a house and I've yet to feel comfortable with a Free Company to be assured that I'll stay there and buy a chambers (except that one time but I didn't buy a room anyway).

I just started leveling crafters and gatherers (CRP 16, CUL 16, WVR 17, LTW 16, BTN 26, MIN 17, FSH 12) and been collecting everything I need myself for the HQ items since I found they are escencial to HQ recepies the first try for the bonus exp (and to gear my crafters with HQ gear and do HQ GC supply missions).
I think I only have a tab´s worth of free space in my retainers due to all the materials and fruits I gather. Ive resorted to only keep HQ raw materials and a couple rows of HQ CUL materials.
But thats only having gathered materials for the BTN-dependant crafting classes. Now its time to gather fopr the MIN-dependant classes and I see Im gonna need like 1k+ copper ore. Thats 10 slots, 10 SLOTS!

I always try to HQ everything, even the base mats. HQ shit (especially my onw, and on the first try) is my biggest reason to craft or even level it.

Eve online has terrible crafting/gathering/industry but it's incredibly balanced. You basically pay the material cost + market tax and you can even resell it for the material cost + more tax so you can end up at 90-95% return on your purchase if your ship doesn't blow up. You get 100% material cost back if you buy an insurrance for 30% your ship's worth.
