You can, yes. An Unmountable Boot Drive simply means all the data is still ON the disk, just for some reason the computer can't find where Windows is installed to. Pulling it apart will likely fuck it - and all your data - permanently.

I guess I can't say for certain that it was up to the victim who populated it, actually, but it made sense. Maybe the illusion was somehow powerful enough to also replicate every single person in the real world.
