I was personally in charge of writing the script, so I'll take the compliment :) As for the checkpoints, we did consider that... after we were way too far into the programming, so doing it would mean adding several new frames to each death ending. I won't say BlazBlue's story's a masterpiece, because it's really not. But does anyone actually think Guilty Gear's story is good either?
