I would take Spud over Mako, simply because he can play aggressively and land shots at range.
The reason Mako is a good damage dealer is because he sits back fucking 10km behind everyone else, and does a lot of damage as he gets swarmed at the end of the game to pad his stats. I've seen him fucking refuse to capture objectives to win the game and go off chasing damage instead, causing a loss.

Okay so here's what you do. Create an account for tanks, use the Reddit invite code. It's 7 days of prem time and 500 gold which you can use to buy two additional days. And THEN you complete the tutorial missions for an additional week (?) or so. Prem time is unified so you can basically get 2 weeks of prem for warships for free.
The tutorial missions for tanks are incredibly easy so it's worth it IMO.
