I usually take CDR because it benefits Malzahar a lot, Iw ould only take pure defensive runes against someone like Brand or Azir.

First off you gotta decide on do you build tear or not. If you're building trinity force then yes get tear, if getting iceborn gauntlet
If you need a tank on the team then go sunfire into iceborn and take grasp.
If you have a tanky jungler and support then your can go tear trinity manamune. Take fervor of battle. I'd probably recommend deadmans plate and titanic hydra after.

Q max gives you a lower cd and 300 damage, the idea is auto q auto e auto. Don't activate your ultimate unless it's to finish offs someone at low health it does immense damage over time. If you can fight away from creeps so your ultimate passive doesn't jump to them.
Runes are just a basic adc page with ad, attspeed, armor and magic resist.
Start with Corrupting potion, grab sheen either as first item or after tear if goingnthat path.
Be careful, your base movespeed is 325 so you move like a slug in the early game. Your allies and enemies will both think you are useless which will make them overconfident.

One thing I've consistently noticed is that the worse a player actually is, the more likely they are to flash emotes or shit talk after a good play. I theorize it's because they're so frustrated after being constantly dead weight that they have to overcompensate the few times they do get lucky.
I've seldom seem genuinely good players, playing in their own ranks and not smurfing, do that kind of stuff. If you're used to pulling good plays then you don't even bat an eye when you do it yet again it after all, it's just second nature to them.

DoT nerf probably hits tank harder but it's no joke to Fizz, so many of his kills come from the last tick of that DoT as the enemy thinks they've gotten away. Missing %HP is almost as strong on assassins because it scales with their burst while on tanks it's really scaling with their team's burst.

I just played a game as Talon, my first game EVER playing an Assassin, and I was blown away by his base damage, range and mobility.
Why does Talon not see more play?
He's got waveclear, he's got strong early damage and good ratios, he's great at getting in and out of fights, Corrupting Potion handles his early mana issues.

All damage, zero utility is the problem most assassins have, it's why most of them don't see pro play. You get big or die trying and the ones that do get played at top level do so because of their safety. Someone like Zed can more reliably become strong because he's lower risk. Pretty much free wins on every teamfight unless your team (or yourself) is completely retarded.
Your rockets give you range to free poke, Runaan's give your rockets sweet aoe damage, the chompers stop dead most wannabe divers, lifesteal (which is proced by the runaan's additional rockets and splash damage) give you sustain. Procing her passive will either give you speed to chase, att speed to mow down who sticks around, or leaving the fuck out if it turns sour.
It's not easy to master positioning and when to throw the chompers (preemptively vs reactively), and if your tank is the sort of idiot to stay behind the squishies instead of the other way around you're screwed, but Jinx can be ridiculously OP. Also you have to remember to rev up the att speed steroid with the minigun before switching to rockets, it's amazing how even in plat many people still don't do that.
