I use felgrand for weird petdecks that use traps and harpies dragon xyz n shit. Situational sure, but blue eyes has a very flexible extra deck
I like Yang Zing. They have powerful synchro monsters and a cool ability to power-up their synchro monsters.
They can be made quite a bit faster and more proactive by adding Metalphosis.
But I still find them to be too slow or inconsistent. Too often I have a starting turn where the only thing for me to do is pop a yang zing with a metalphosis and search for a counter and float into another yang zing, set my cards and end. Jiaotu requires running a high monster count, but it almost feels like I'm not running a high enough monster count, because I don't draw enough monsters to discard for him.
Would you have any suggestions for making this less bad?

But those are the only 4 non-garbage options. Compare that to blue-eyes where they have 25 good extra deck options and optimising the extra deck requires some thought. In DM you can get away with not even running a full extra deck and the deck is still at full power.
