Just as a heads-up, the torrent client seems to match the direct-download one exactly. Those who already downloaded the latter can extract and use it to seed the torrent for the anons who haven't downloaded yet.

Soul Linker is pretty comfy. Links help the party out but you can also do some of the highest dps with Esma with no gear requirement.

I can understand why, most RO players are used to free telepor everywhere, job changes and platinum skills without questing, and stuff like that. I am used to that stuff too, so I'm struggling a little bit to get used to this server, but the guild is really nice and playing with them makes the extra effort worth it.

Actually I was able to level up pretty high without farming anything, just selecting appropriate mobs with good loot and raising levels. This is how the game is supposed to work, you only grind hydras for hours if you REALLY feel like it, otherwise you just get stronk, get lucky with rare drops or hoard the zeny you get from high level mobs, then you buy that hydra card off of some newer player who needs the cash more than that card. There's also every probability that you can get the card by chance with an OCA or MCA.

It is renewal, but it's not like renewal. It's also not like pre-renewal. In pre-renewal you very well did actually have to grind racial cards and stacks of slot gear and such just to progress. In renewal you could just level up and if you leveled enough your one job would be able to handle almost anything, or you would become so powerful that whatever farming you did have to do was easy and trivial. This is a customized renewal server that is ultimately not going to be like either of those things. You level up, you learn your job, you figure out what you can do, and you gradually carve away and expand the areas you can explore in. You bring a friend who covers for your weakness and you can explore a lot further. The jobs actually have niches and different capabilities and the drop rate is just enough that unless you're very unlucky, you will get at least something while simply grinding levels. There is also a LOT of custom quests filled with specific challenges and riddles, that are actually rewarding to finish and interesting to play.

They reverted the web page to a placeholder version something like it looked like during beta countdown when they took the server down in preperation for the twin server launch, when it was actually running it was really slick and informative.
Also consequently the server was removed from RateMyServer, which is fine because some of the reviews were a bit spoilery
The fact that they independently modeled their own hub city since then is actually really encouraging. You can see what it looks like on the facebook page.

the solution the team came to was to relaunch with two servers with the same content only one would be permadeath and the other wouldn't be

Dawn of Midgard for about 1 month had an issue where the server flat out refused to let more than 1024 people (including vendors lamo!!) in or it would crash and burn.
Then, for a few day solution the administrative crew limited the server to 1000 players max, yet still the server crashed and burned.
Then after a while they got it working because some random /vg/ shitposted about how to fix it on the forums and then the server lived for like 1 week until someone did your usual shit of abusing shiftily programmed quests for mad zeny and other babbies whined.
It, like all clique selected servers, died out pretty fast and was just garbage.
