5/10 of the top global trade nodes in the early 17th century, talk about a golden age of piracy.

I'd say this run has been a success. From now own I'll probably include the Haizei and Wokou as custom nations regardless of where I start, because they seem to make SEA much more interesting. Lanfong (Hakka merchant republic starting as a OPM on borneo) has been a disappointment, probably would only be interesting if played by a human, and even then, why would they play Chinese venice when they could be chinese pirates.

I'll post the Haizei ideas if anyone wants to slot them into their own game. Just remember to set their religion as anything in the eastern category except confucian.

Depends. The new political system and the sandbox nature of the game is immensely fun. But if you're not into that, then I'd reccomend going back to HOI3 (for massive railroading) or DH for a little sandbox, but not full retard. AI, is somewhat broken. The game can be extremely easy. Other than that I have not noticed any major issues. The game definitely has potential, and can ripen into a pretty good /gsg/ with the right fixes and an overhaul mod or two

I'd reccomend it: pirate it or buy and play it (for less than two hours if you want to return it), to see if you like it or not.

There is actually an economy mod for Ck2 but it runs like shit, even worse than the normal game because of all the extra things the engine has to keep track of.

So there's no way to add functional economy before Paradox unfucks their game/releases better optimized Ck3.

Battleplan is the worst fucking system in the game. It's retardedly difficult to actually change things on the fly and AI is completely brain dead and will just stand around doing nothing.

I drew my meme arrows around Poland, started war and took Warsaw but there was still some fighting in the south and east. Except it's fucking impossible to disentangle the mess that five different finished plans overlapping over each other and the retarded pastel soft borders and the map that keeps grouping all my units up unless I'm at maximum zoom distance and it just made me want to punch a monitor.

I ended up just manually ordering few divisions to mop up the rest of Poland and manually sent the rest to invade France.

And that still holds true throughout the entire history up until such time we create robot soldiers.

Germany literally lost both world wars because of economy, the first one because they got choked out and the second out because they got produced out. Britain in the 19th and early 20th and the US in the mid to late 20th and 21st century largely went/go to war because of economy. etc etc etc

War is economy, there is no difference between the two. All separation is artificial and present because of overly simplistic simulation.

The way the war is set up, WW2 realistically is extremely likely to evolve into a cold war between US and at least one other faction. In real life US won the cold war not through military or even diplomacy but through economy.

5 of them are locked into producing consumer goods because of your economic policy.
3 of them are being used to trade stuff.
You have 4 leftover factories that you can build stuff with.
All of those 4 factories are working on building 2 more factories in Chihuahua.
You can only build the thing at the top of your list, and all factories will be automatically assigned to it, up to 15 when then overflow moves to the second factory and so on.
The little number beside the factory shows how may levels of it you'll build, you have 2.
It will build all the factories in Chihuahua then move on to the next thing.

So here's one of my biggest complaints about the HOI4 AI: the completely retarded way it handles amphibious assaults.

I was playing as the Yugos last night and the Allies would send like ten amphibious assaults a year at random places along the coastline of Axis nations, with between only 1 and 3 divisions actually being landed. Needless to say, these were mopped up immediately in every case, but the Allies kept on doing it all the way until the end of the war.

The only one that made any headway at all was what I assume was some sort of triggered invasion meant to resemble D-Day, but even that was quite pathetic and easily mopped up by Yugo forces.

As we speak I am watching the British and American forces attempt to seize Japanese-controlled China with a grand total of 2 divisions, by landing them at Fuzhou (which if you don't know your geography very well, is on the Chinese side of the Taiwan Strait).

This really needs to be Paradox's first fix, this shit is just silly.
