I have learned that if you beat X 1, 2 and 3 on the X collection you can unlock Mega Man Battle and Chase (a Mario Kart game but with Mega Man instead). The way it's structured is that if you know what you're doing to absolutely feel like a God of Destruction. The short recovery times mean that murdering everything ASAP keeps you safe from damage without actually being much slower than speedruns.

There's a variety of different colour combinations in the list of cheats I found.
If I had to guess I'd say the game fills in sprite palettes dynamically, which makes sense considering the amount of recoloured viruses through the entire series.
The codes I found just modified MegaMan's palettes. And that's why I love cheat devices. I'm not terribly into actual cheatingunless shit starts to get really tedious, but finding stuff like this is neat.
