Technically, I'm still about 4 days ahead of schedule, I guess.
According to my vague idea of my schedule, month one is for the first draft of the script and if I don't feel like writing, then I should at least do concept art/sketches. Month two is putting together the placeholders and script and then replacing the placeholders. If there's any time left over, I get to try the non-essentials. Not doing anything fancy with the coding, so hopefully I can finish everything I want.

Turns from slice of life with a dash of mystery in the first episode (only one that's free) into an full time SJW advert by the fith one. Choice don't carry over between episodes, so the writting is pretty ambiguous when it comes to previous events, and choices don't really seem to matter at all.

Most of the people that apply are just random people on social media who are either fans, or are looking to break into the pro VA scene despite not having the talent for it. The recording equipment is also an issue, and you can end up with unleveled audio like AJ Tilley if not a ton of work is put into fixing up the audio files.

The risk of VAs is that they can make or break a character. I think a great example is Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Objectively speaking, Dorian is written in a very dull way, but his VA is easily the best one out of the whole cast. On the other hand, Iron Bull's VA is so fucking bad he single handedly ruined the character.
Now, extrapolate that to a medium like VNs and well...

The thing I find interesting about Lupiesoft's approach is that it'll be a commercial DLC. If people like the game and not the voices, then they don't have to buy the voices. There's also the potential for rampant piracy of the voice patch. Would you pay between $2-$5 extra for those voices? The game itself was only $5, or $2.50 while on sale, so that could make the voices seem really expensive.

Well, no, because you don't know how to math.
If you divide something by 3 three times that doesn't mean you've reduced it to zero.
Start with $10,000 in gross sales. Steam takes 30%. You now have $7000 in payout.
Publisher takes 30% of $7K, leaving you with $4900.
If your taxes are actually 30% of that, then the final result would be $3430.

That's bizarre, I see other websites (not related to Steam) claiming that if you're doing digital business and you don't have any physical location or employees in the US you shouldn't be liable for US income tax. I suppose it might make a difference if they're talking about you directly selling to customers in the US vs getting payouts from a US-based company like Steam though. Still doesn't make sense to me.

Okay, this is just my opinion but if you want VA you seriously need to consider changing the dialogue to fit with the voice.
"I can take care of myself Toko, after all I'm a college student now", really? This does not translate well to voice, especially with the chosen VA. I don't know the context, but it seems either one to one or small group, and if either, why would they use "Toko" and not directly say she can take care of herself. There is just so much that doesn't flow, it makes it hard to like, even if the VA is good, they are stuck with that writing.
Anyone who is going after VA I think needs to either let the VA change the line so they sound natural or change it themselves. Don't use the first thing you get.

Someone I know works in local films and I asked the same question. Basically everyone has their own views on the script. The Director, the lights people, the sound people, the producers, the production people and of course the creator.
You'll just have to make sure you communicate with the director about how you want it. The director, well, directs everyone involved. Of course you can be the director yourself.
I like working alone though so that's all quite hard for me to wrap around my head with so I get what you mean.
