Akane is a tough gal who never backs down from a challenge, although she's dimwitted and acts before she thinks, she's headstrong and strong and doesn't give up. She has a rather tragic past, but she doesn't seem to think much of it even though it's a pretty hard childhood she had.

At first, I was really undecided if I was going to like Ibuki or Chiaki the most. Then the first trial happened when she said the line, 'You've got that wrong!' and I was completely floored. I was under the impression she was going to be comedic relief but when she said that line, I immediately thought she was of an entirely different calibre. She continued to show excellent problem solving skills throughout the game without falling into some pitfalls that Kyoko fell in by stealing the spotlight. Finally, her sacrifice was very symbolic and she took her execution like a champ. Her triumphant return in the final trial also made me smile and made me realise that all was not lost.
Everything she does is because she wants to be kind. I admire that so, so much. Sure, she's definitely the most shallow character, but that doesn't stop me from thinking she's a great character.If only she was real...

She's cute and acts strangely at times, but she's also smart. She cares about other people and is curious about them, as seen early in the game with her conversation with kuzuryuu. Also, she's generally more aware of potential problems and traps within the game than others (like when she didn't want to go in the funhouse) but she never tries to force people to follow her decisions
If I had to find a flaw I would say that the fact she was an AI makes her a bit more one dimensional, because I can't speculate about her past or what lead her to become who she is. Chapter 5 broke my heart

Sure, i've mentioned before on here why I like Ishimaru, but I can paraphrase it again.
Beneath his tough and hard demanding exterior, he's actually really sweet. I also really liked how devoted he is to people, and how far he stuck up for Mondo. I really like how energetic he is despite all of his hardships. He just wants to make the world of everyone better, but he has such difficulty communicating with people he feels really left out and doesn’t know how to fix that. He came from nothing but his effort and dedication put him where he was in life; he just thinks of himself as an ordinary person, and he totally believes that everyone can do the same and has that strength to be able to do that themselves with a little effort. He’s very motivating and inspirational, and despite all the bleakness, deceit, and just general terribleness that went on in the game he is always looking out for the well-being of others.
He’s just really dear and important to me. He is great and deserved better than the fate he got in the game.

I remember playing SDR2 for the first time after already being spoiled that Nagito would end up being a crazy character, so when i first started i was just waiting for him to go full crazy, and when he finally did i was like meh ok then that's cool i guess; then as the game went on I started to like his hope filled talk alongside his weird demeanor. It was in the last chapter when i finally saw just how far he was willing to go for the sake of his own idea of hope, he's a fascinating character.

In order to prevent a new semester of killing from reaching a certain point of despair (i.e pigtails dying), you have to go back to dr3's timeline and prevent makoto from dying. If he dies, then hope is killed off and possible 'ultimate despairs' will continue to be locked up and put at risk into being forced to kill each other. If they prevent makoto from dying, then a new timeline will be created, causing a shift in the cycle and creating a new hope that will once and for all stop the ultimates from being locked upforgive me I'm tired. 9 hour shifts on sundays arent fun

Kuzuryuu is a badass, he first starts out distant, like a lone wolf not wanting anything to do with anyone.
While he had the fuck off attitude similar to Togami in the first game, he was made to be portayed as a somewhat early antagonist, someone for the player to loathe or distrust.
Then... Chapter 2 happens, where you start to learn more about the real him, his goals, his mindset, even his ideals. He says he doesn't want to rely on anyone. This comes into play near the end of that tearjerking Chapter, man did I cry. He ended up becoming someone I respect, someone to love and look up to. After that chapter, his facade crumbles, he begins to take his life in a new light. He pulls a 180 really well and is arguably the most well developed character in my opinion.
His tsundere personality, his smile, his morality, a lot of reasons to love the guy.
His backstory with Peko, his FTEs and Island Mode events all show how great he is.

Why is Danganronpa 2 such a huge step down from 1? Was it just rushed or something?
It takes everything good about 1 and does way less of it .
I takes everything bad about 1 and does way more of it.
The constant painfully unfunny and repetitive Monokuma and Monomi interruptions ruin any mood or momentum that gets established. The characters went from being pretty implausible (Chihiro, a highschool trap that can also create an AI by himself) to being flatly ridiculous (a hamster tamer that fights a robot while claiming to be a wizard). The executions went from being ridiculous but macabre to being so over the top stupid that they were not even believable or even horrifying. Just flatly impossible.
DR1 crossed the point of zaniness into complete stupidity a few times (Chihiro's Alter Ego and Genocide Jack) but DR2 does it all the fucking time.
There are some great characters in DR2 and the first case is great, but all of the rest of the cases are phenomenally weak. DR1 did such a better job of riding the emotional roller coaster, but DR2 gets bogged down by its stupidity and Monokuma/Monomi interrupts.

The best and worst poll confuses me.
I can see why Hiyoko is the worst girl because of how much of a bitch she is. And when she tried to become a better person they killed her. So our only experience with this character is her brief bitch existence.

1: I have known plenty of people who have been personally wronged by criminals, killers and the like. And if there has been one thing I have learned from them, it is this: ALWAYS have a forgiving heart. Calling for blood immediately is no less savage than the killings that sparked these feelings.
