Anyone else feel as though posting WIPs of something before it's finished seems to undermine the final product? If people already see what you're trying to do, it sort of takes away from the excitement of what to expect. If WIPs are to be posted, I feel that they would be best shown after the final piece has been completed.

Well, we drew against /rsg/, which is better than I expected, but with the result of the the /ffg/-/mhg/ match we basically need a bit of a miracle to advance to the knockouts this time.

Participating in a SFW general means my works grow more SFW, that's just how it is -- a lot of it has to do with logistics and presentation but there's more to that than just "how long does it take to post, I'm too impatient to put it on the Booru", and it's kind of hard to put them into words
I didn't draw much porn simply because the idea of porn of the robots didn't/doesn't really interest me, not because (as someone said in the last thread) I thought it was too weird or out there for me

In the AU, there's none of that subtext or baggage and the characters feel very different -- the characters being pretty much entirely fanon is a whole other can of worms at this point though
Plus, I don't know, a family entertainment robot with a fleshlight socketed in doesn't really grab me, but I feel like that's a more minor point in comparison

Bad_Ideas- I dug the William story a lot. And the Oracle story, for different reasons. Bad_Ideas uses the same characters Benis did, and goes in a different direction, tonally. It has the hallucinatory golden freddy and the Connie, but tells a very different story than Benis does. The flow and crooked, disjointed perspective of William works well in it's favor as diction and imagery are used in concise, synergistic areas.
Root Cellar's Penny story is pretty damn good, too. It's a character-focused piece with little visceral horror, and moreso a focus on developing two mentally disturbed characters and how they interact. Like a kettle, it boils and boils down to the final pages. It works really well and stands out as it's own. It also pretty much became the definitive portrayal of Grapefruit's Penny robot, which is neat.
Skeptic's "Why you shouldn't love Bonnie" story operates on a similar core- the boiling build up- but it also adopts a different structure that works in it's favor. Rather than the complicated and human emotive Penny, Skeptic paints the center animatronic as an inhuman entity, wrapped up in a cocoon of an obfuscating persona that captures the early days of FNAF hype, where the animatronics had a particular "edge" and horror to them that was dulled with subsequent entries. It's unnerving, and the uncanny valley-based depiction of Bonnie is just damn satisfying.

An old OCfag who was very well liked posted as anon once saying that he didn't like how anons would just rip and shred every single thing anyone posted, and how he didn't feel comfortable creating art for the general anymore. The response was overwhelming, many many replies of "get thick skin you shithead, stop being a pussy, if you can't handle the bantz then get out, we don't want you here, we are legion, we do not forgive, we do not forget". He never came back. Of course it's very easy to say "fuck him he didn't belong here, it's 4chan culture". It doesn't matter. We'll never see new art from him.

Actually, it's one of the reasons I left. Mods would sooner abandon their own groups then lift a finger to fix things, lest they get some flack for being the bad guy.
