The server is moving onto the SoO / Timeless Isle phase soon, so if you want to raid level up and you can gear up on the Timeless Isle.
We're Alliance side, patch 5.4.8.
Current raid times will be aiming for PST 2-5pm Thursdays. This is Midnight Thursday to 3am Friday Server time.
Remember you can transfer using maxed level characters for up to two free 85s with good starting gear and a profession each. (The account used is not compromised in the process, they just need screen shots).

Vanilla is a little rough for a first timer desu.
Currently a large portion of wpsg is playing Horde side on Theatre of Dreams' Lightbringer server. We have some empty spots in our raids, and plenty of people who can help you.
WotLK is honestly more beginner friendly.
HOWEVER - some of us will also be moving to wowfreakz, a Mists of Pandaria server thats about to be kicking into a good patch for getting up and going. MoP is even more beginner friendly, but the end game is mechanically more difficult and several classes have decent depth to them.

Really don't roll ToD, it will feel like a single player game while you're leveling because literally everyone is already 80, and leveling is 50% of the WoW experience.
Don't roll WoW Freakz either or risk being forever turned off of private servers seeing as non of the content before level 85 even works and you'll just be left wondering what the fuck is happening as you hit the barrens and are suddenly level 40 because the server has a 50x exp multiplier.

It lies about its population, but despite that, it's still the most populated wrath server(s).

If you roll ToD, it will fell dead about 60-70% of the time.
But if you want to raid with /wpsg/ then roll on ToD.

The problem with modern raiding, hell modern WoW, is a lack of immersion. When I started, you didn't have badge gear to catch up with, you didn't get to skip content or see the final boss of the game after being max level for a few hours and spending some gold that's easy to acquire on the AH.
Everything is handed to everyone now, and as you can see it leads to content drought, subscription loss, and an overall lack of interest in the game. So before you throw Legion sales numbers at me let me stop you and say a fanboy group of "men" around my age, who fall for expansion hype every single go around, preordered a game that they hadn't even seen more than a few screenshots of.
Fuck this four difficulty shit, and fuck mythic raiding. The concept of two separate difficulties and raid sizes was bad enough after BC. It's not that mythic isn't hard, it's that by the time I get there I couldn't give a shit. I've seen it all twice, at least.

Vengeance doesnt give its mobs 90% aoe resistance and extra fireball abilities to prevent aoe farming and lvling at a reasonable speed.
It has arena, and people are walking around with glad gear on. It has wsg, and eots, and kara.. Mag and Gruul are in testing, and as soon as HKM starts to melee, they will be released. That issue is a big one with MaNGOS and when it gets fixed, the whole server will feel a lot more polished.

Literally everything is scripted, and the only issue with mobs are ones that effect pretty much every MaNGOS based server, and the leashing issue which rarely happens.

Even that really annoying escort in Terokkar with the fey dragon that moves extremely fast, and makes you jump off the bird guys platform in a weird way making you fail the quest, even that one works perfectly.
Not all of them are perfect, but they are all scripted and 58-70 you really dont experience any really annoying or experience breaking bugs besides the leashing one, which happens only to a small number mobs, mostly around water, and maybe 1 in 10 when its the types who do it.
It probably happened 15-20 times while lvling to 70.

The warlocks in terokkar who drop the scryer rep items do the same thing, and maybe 1 other caster that I came across while lvling almost exclusively through quests.
Very rare, it just so happens to occur right at the start. Its the same type of thing screwing up HKM and preventing the Gruul release, as I said, when that gets fixed (actually soon) the whole server will improve for it because it should effect everyone, not just HKM.

These are 2 videos about "Burning Crusade" which is the server being done by Gummy who was behind Scriptcraft. I forget which one, but in one of them he talks about the concept that I was explaining, about fixing simple shit at the start that will end up fixing raid bosses.
Its worth watching just because its a potentially corecraft tier competitor coming out at an unknown date alone, but it explains a lot about servers too, and he has MVS and the MaNGOS code up on screen etc.
When HKM is fixed, the rest of those simple issues should be too.

Interesting point. The funny part is your post actually convinced me more to buy at least level 60. You're right about how the server could disappear right after I spend money. The server could also disappear right after I put dozens hours into it. Any of these private servers could disappear at any minute. The time I would have to spend leveling to reach the content I am interested in is worth far more to me than the monetary cost to p2w my way there.
For you it sounds like the scarce resource is money and the abundant resource is time. It's the opposite for me.

Glaston didn't even hit level 70 and I couldn't even stand the guy. Every single thing that came out of his mouth was about diapers of shit or what have you. Aerobatics was a sperg that randomly screamed at the top of his lungs into the mic during boss fights to try to be ex dee so randumb to impress his friends. Snack was okay in very small doses but jesus fuck the guy never shuts up.

Guess I got a connection with em still. Yet he never seems to play any games when he comes on. Hopefully people get to enjoy Uld. I got burnt out on the game in whole, and didn't want to come back after uld was released or continue or any other servers. I wouldn't blame cobe on this matter, or anyone overall. Periods of play where you're forced to wait to do something, tend to have people start to get cabin fever. Unfortunately this game is old, has a designated path, information, and set course of life.
