How would they make it worth using over the other ones? The only pistols that have been added recently were the Marksman and Revolver, and they're alright because a) they have different actions rather than just being generic mag-fed semis and b) the revolver is a pocket heavy sniper that can take down helicopters in two shots
The only way I could see a glock being added and also worth using is if it was an 18c and had better damage and accuracy than the AP pistol but no automatic fire.

Crossfire/SLI is generally shit, it's probably better to upgrade. AMD is releasing the 480 at the end of this month which is likely about as good as the 970 or 290 for 200$. Or if you want more performance than that, Nvidia has the 1070 somewhere this month for I think 400$ or so.

Am I the only one getting the ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT crash?
I finished the entire game in story mode without the crashes then one day they happened after a 4 hour session and now keeps happening between 10 minutes and 2 hours of gameplay seemingly at random.
I know it's a fairly common issue and I feel like I've tried everything. I have a decent rig (GTX 960M, i7 6700HQ, 16 GB) but still getting this. Game runs smooth af apart from these crashes.
This is sorta a last ditch effort just to see if anyone here has any experience with this.

I had that problem when one of my old gpu's were faulty and I did a semi fix doing this.
Download NVIDIA Inspector or any gpu overclocker from wherever
Run nvidiaInspector / gpu over clocker
"-20" under both Base Clock Offset and Memory Clock Offset.
Once both offsets are showing "-20 MHz" you will click "Apply Clocks & Voltage" and you'll now be downclocked.
The settings that you apply will remain that way until you hit Apply Defaults.

Have you tried pulling the bar to the performance tick in geforce exp?
How long have you had the laptop, and how well have you cooled it.

Video driver crash. Most games can recover and keep going after a short black screen when the drivers crash, but GTA throws a tantrum.

I've been reluctant to downclock the GPU since everything seems to run so great apart from this. When I first got the game I ran stock settings, which was "Very High" for most things -- game ran great at around 40-55 fps. After the crashes I played around with the settings and put most down to "High" or "Normal" and now run at 55-60 FPS... still getting the crashes. I will say they seem to happen much more when driving BACK in to town in sunlight at high speeds, but not always.
I'll be honest and say I haven't run the game in safe mode, because I've heard it really puts the game into shitmode, but I'll try it out to see if it works. What exactly does it do?

Yeah, I've tried running in DX10, 10.1 and 11, tried playing around with tessellation, AO, shaders, Vsync, lowering graphics very much to unacceptable levels, I put the game in "Prefer maximum performance" in Nvidia Control panel, tried shutting down background apps and screen recorders, nothing seems to work.
I've had this laptop since December last year, and had the game almost as long. It ran so well during Story Mode and never crashed, but I can't really say whether a patch caused this or if I was just lucky when running Story Mode and never got the crash up until now.
I have not tried the thing in Geforce Experience. What exactly are you referring to here? Do you mean the bar in "Battery Boost"?

I've actually only gotten the "Video Drivers Crashed" message one time -- normally the game just freezes and the sound keeps playing for 30 seconds before finally shutting down. But you're right, this is probably the cause bottom line. Question is how to resolve it.

There's a tweak games tab. Click the wrench under the gta tab and change it to peformance.

Alrighty, playing in full performance mode now. Settings are extremely tuned down, everything is at "normal" but lets see if it works. Whatever stabilizes the game.
