What most people don't seem to understand is that Riot and LoL were created to capitalize off of DotA's success. They copied a formula that was proven to be popular, dumbed it down to make it more accessible to casuals, and made a fortune. That was their goal and they accomplished it. The founders of Riot never cared about making a quality game. If you don't know much about LoL's history then Google Guinsoo and Pendragon.
