High level games are super-snowbally on attack/defence. You can't hold a forward choke because once it breaks the game just ends.
In normal pubs the dynamic is that defending teams have the advantage, but in high level/competitive games that switches and suddenly defence has a really hard job against an attacking side that properly coordinates ultimates.

I think it was all the zenyatta orb shooting that made me really comfortable playing genji.
He is super fun to play because every match feels completely different with him since so much of it is based on how the enemy team is playing their characters.
