Clash Royale is just like Hearthstone, except requires faster thinking and more apm.
They are both card based. They are both mana based. The only difference is that you need to react quicker and counter faster in Clash Royale than Hearthstone.

Honestly most decks still use classic cards as the basis. Classic will not be rotated out. So if you're playing as the anon said, you will play arena, earn packs, earn money and play with the new cards even if you don't have them. And if you're good you might end up going infinite and earn enough dust to make everything you want. Obviously getting all cards is completely out of question, but that's even if you pay unless you go in with several hundred per expansion and even the you're not guaranteed to get all of it.
A f2p new player should work towards building up a strong classic foundation before bothering with expansions.

I'm trying to make a Reno Rogue but I'm struggling, especially against Shamans who flood their board and use that Mukla knight to buff everyone. I only have one Vanish and I don't always draw into it. Even if I consistently kill Shaman minions, if I let just one live I lose.

It's really really good against Tempo Mage and Rogues in general which for me at least on the EU ladder were very prevalent.
Beyond that it's just a 3 attack minion which is important in this meta. It's probably not needed though if you think something else will work better in the spot.

Low mana curve means you won't have a lot of cards in hand, so mountain giant isn't a good choice.
The 3rd card is shit. Below average stats for an effect that you most likely won't get to use. So Anima. Low mana curve also means you will have an easier time summoning more than one minions meaning the enemy will have a harder time clearing the whole board to get ride of it through the effect.
And even if he does, as long as the anime survived a turn or two for some trading, it's worth it.
All 3 are bad, Anima is the least bad of them in my opinion.
Thoughts? It does surprizingly well aganst zoo and face shaman, and does about as well as you would expect aganst n'zoth or c'thun decks, and have mostly lost to totem shamans running bloodlust.

It's not even that big of a problem. I played a lot of zoolock lately and only got multiple PO off of dark peddlers a few times and in a lot of cases it's not even the issue of having multiples I just get the one of Dark Peddler, and never see the other two.
Zoolock is a strong deck. PO does not make or break it, like warsong did for Patron Warrior.

Midrange generally beats everything in HS.
The point of midrange is that it's consistent as fuck, while aggro dies to slow decks on a bad draw, and control dies to fast decks on a bad draw.
You won't necessarily beat everything all the time, but it is less likely to get fucked by your own draw.

I've noticed that Thaurissan doesn't do enough in my C'thun druid.

-Emperor T
-Twilight Elder
+Disciple of C'thun
+Darnassus x2 or Raven Idol x2
Raven idol is amazing with Fandral, a really strong combo that might even refill you hand from empty if you're lucky enough.

It's literally the first wing of BrM just save up those 700 g in a week when you play everyday maybe even 5 days.
Emperor makes it so you can otk more consistently.

The part about the 60%+ winrate online is mostly standard / modern, which are the formats I play the most.
Draft is something I do on weekends at my LGS with fellow nerds.
I don't know what it is about HS, but I do lose a lot, especially to aggro decks and stupid combos.
Maybe it's the fact that you can't interact with your opponent, but I feel like every single enemy at rank 15 has either a better deck or plays better, since I lose more games than I win.
