If you ignore the pirate, he will eventually go away. Previously, if you ignored him he would teleport you away. Other random events would do similar actions or attack you, potentially killing you. This was a great way to combat bots until they were updated to handle the random events.How this would work is the random event would be given a new ID every update. Bots would still be looking for their old ID to stop/avoid them. If the bot was not updated, random events would take care of them in a lot of cases.
Reddit kept complaining that this was an annoying thing for regular players to deal with (most likely just osbuddy users complaining) so the JMods removed the ability for random events to harm you for not responding to them.
