Not really, but it's not as long, there are much fewer mechanics, and you only need to find 1 other person to do it as opposed to 3 others for asura.
Also, asura farm parties are rare unless you have a static, so you have to take into the account the time it takes finding a party after every run.

tldr will this patch be the 'last chance' you give to BnS and will you pack up if it turns out to be lackluster, or have you already resolved that you will be here forever, regardless of what may come in the future?

BMs depend on draw stance to dish out damage. I think at that level you can only get into draw stance using 4, which is on a pretty long CD, and Q, which, on the other hand, is on a short CD.
The way you should be playing is alternating between the two stances. Blocking puts you back into basic stance. While in basic stance, you either spam LMB between blocks to gain focus back in order to be able to go back into draw to dump it all into damage. If your Q and 4 are like 8 seconds away, you can always dump your focus into pierce instead since draw is unavailable.
At low levels like that it just boils down to blocking at the right time. If you're in Dreamrift right now, then worrry not, because those enemies hurt quite a bit and are annoying in general.
Just try to use what CC you have available, along with your block, to dodge incoming damage. Circle strafing enemies helps too if they're using cone attacks. That is, the colourful patterns on the ground. You can just walk out of them instead of blocking.

I have no hope about the game getting better, the death of currency exchange fucked any hopes of sexy outfits and the profile picture change killed any last vestiges of RP outside pub crawls so I'm pretty much done.

I've made many bad choices along my course of adventuring throughout Blade and Soul. But no matter what happens I always find some way to keep going. I've lost many friends along the way, but I've also made dozens more than have always helped the pain go away.

I think the best thing to do, is just slow down. You don't have to be the best. You don't have to be number one. All you have to do is have fun and enjoy yourself. Find a group of people you like and stick with them. I've received a ton of shit for the discord but all we really do is hang out and shoot the shit. People go off and play other games together (tree of savior, dark souls 3, and overwatch) and its nice.
I think you just have to do the same, get out there make friends. Be social a bit and find people to attach yourself to. It won't always work out but once you find a nice selection of friends everything gets easier. You don't worry about wiping or impressing each other, the small banter you have between each other is much more rewarding than finding an ember in asura.
