Basically, Runeterra's gone to shit. All sorts of plagues, incursions by dark forces and general batshit insane stuff takes place. Most see it as the end of the world as they know it.

I know the bounty system, XP increases, and death timers have really tried to curve snowballing, but new Rift Herald, Dragons, and Elder Dragon only promote snowballing hard during early and mid game.

Yeah, I've played into Akali before. The other anon is right, especially early her e damage is pretty negligible. Level 1 it's pretty strong, but not again until you really get a lot of ap. If they don't build Mr, dashing across it will chunk them a good amount. When I had about 600 something ap, my e could one shot an enemy khazix if he jumped on me. So it scales extremely well with ap. But early on, especially 6 when Akali gets her dash, it's pretty weak.

He's strong but he doesn't win games by himself. High success rate but low agency means you'll PROBABLY win the game with him but that depends on your team not being much more retarded than the enemy team.
That's why people like to play assassins so much. If they can stomp their lane and snowball they basically 1v5 and it doesn't matter how shit their team mates are.
