I think I explained it pretty well.

You install FBI. Open it. The bottom option for QR codes. Do that.

Go to the site for titleid/keys. Click the QR button on the thing you want. Point your camera at the QR code.

Boom, ticket installed. Now on main FBI menu go to tickets. Find that titleid. Click. INSTALL FROM CDN.

Boom.

A question from yesterday, but should I have two "ropbinpayload_menuhax" files? If not, would it be okay to delete the earliest one that I had installed in January?
>>
>>140743768
Now my Q is? Can I install games from other regions using this method? There aren't many JPN title keys in that website.
>>
>>140744050
Assuming that you downgraded, it's safe to delete the one with the highest number (that's Menuhax for the version you downgraded from).
>>
My screen says Welcome to RXTools 3.0, but how do I get the actual tools? All I can do is choose to launch between the three modes.

>>
The 3DS has got all the original DS hardware, right?

Can something like Nintendont be achieved?
>>
>>140744395
I did downgrade to 9.2 and setting up for step 3. So it would be safe to delete the earliest one from when I was on 10.3?
>>
>>140744943
yes but nobody's working on it
>>
>>140744796
I have my EmuNAND established though. It says RX-E 10.7.0-32U. Should I still do it?
>>
>>140744961
Yes, the earliest one when sorted by date/time should have the highest number in the filename. That's the Menuhax payload for 10.3 which you no longer have any use for.
>>
>>140745298
Okay, thank you for your help. One more question though, should I have formatted my SD card at all or do what this person is doing ( https://youtu.be/pJezO56ILjY?t=494 ) before moving on to step 3 of the guide?
>>
>>140745141

>>
>>140744943
>>140745085
Also, can the "DS part" of the hardware be even accessed? And doesn't Nintendont use a virtual machine or something?
>>
>>140745591
Nah, that shit's only needed if you're using an ancient version of FBI (like the one injected by rxTools). FBI automatically fixes/creates database files.

If your current setup works, don't worry about it.

System transfer doesn't move game tickets (and title info) along, it transfers your encryption key + eShop account and gets new ones from Nintendo. It will fail to get new tickets because your account doesn't really own the game. This applies even to legit cias or tickets with valid titlekeys.

Just installing a replacement ticket after the transfer might actually fix it, but I think it'll still be missing a bunch of stuff.

Someone really needs to write a homebrew system transfer app for filthy pirates.
>>
So I did these steps
Open Luma3DS
>Activate "Show current NAND in System Settings"
>Press Start to boot RedNAND (you must launch Luma3DS from the Homebrew Launcher every time you want to boot RedNAND)
>If you boot into the home menu, you have successfully launched RedNAND

After activating the "Show current NAND" and rebooting I did get back to the home menu.

However, when I went to the system settings, I did not see the firmware version say I was in RedNAND or anything like that?

Is it suppose to say something in the System Setting next to the firmware number after rebotting, similar to hoe ReiNAND says "Rei 9.2.0", or not?

it's fine to turn it off and you have to remove it anyways since you did something wrong

see i knew you did it wrong, you're suppose to drag what is inside the starter folder on to the root not the starter folder, you should have a "3DS" and a "boot" file on your root then you can try again

I'm running Luma3DS installed by following the Plailect guide.

Just now I turned my 3DS and I find myself with the "creating home menu data" message and that I had lost everything from games to homebrew.

I nearly shat my pants, moreso when I checked and saw I was fully updated. I checked again to see if anything else worked and I can still run the Luma configuration menu when pressing select, Decrypt9 when pressing start doesn't seem to want to run at all.

I don't care about the games I lost, those are most likely lost forever so nothing I can do. What I do care about however, is finding out what the fuck happened and how can I prevent it from happening again? Does anyone has an idea of what the hell just happened and why?
>>
How do you update a H&S injected FBI? Do you have to inject it again or is there an easier way?

>>140765087

Why would you even use injected FBI? Just install a cia of it.
>>
>>140767567
you can stop after finishing part 3 if you want, things are about to get complicated at least for you
>>
>>140767470
You can't inject the newer version of FBI into H&S because it requires more permissions. Install it via .cia.

I injected BigBlueMenu in its place.

>>140767643
Because it replaces a useless app and thus saves an extra menu slot (the 3DS has a limit of titles you can have on the home menu before it starts bugging out). It also saves a bit of memory because you're not having both installed at once, but are instead replacing one completely.

Just checking again. I'm on the downgrading part of the a9lh setup, and I've downgraded my emunand to 2.1.0. Is there a way to double check that it worked? I'm just paranoid that it might cause me issues, but when I downgraded it there were no errors and it restarted my 3ds by itself. I'm using a N3DS so I can't just open it to see if it worked as it will just be a black screen.

The only way you could have fucked it up is by forgetting to leave the wifi on. in which case you'll just have to update to 9.2 and try again.

There's an installation section in Luma3DS's wiki.

It should have instructions for non a9lh users.

Why 4 times? You only need to do it twice if you follow the true ending guide, or three times if you played through blind first and then checked the guide.

And knowing the puzzles+fast forwarding through text makes the whole process pretty painless so I don't really see where you're coming from

>>140771000
just follow the guide, seriously. if there was a way to check, the guide would have it by now.

Should my redNAND backup match the Samsung NAND size and my sysNAND match the Toshiba NAND size? Or should both backups match one or the other?

One quick question though: Does it appear on CTRBootManager after doing this?
>>
>>140773948
Sorry if that was a dumb question. I'm just being super cautious because my emuNAND backup is 1.21 GB and my sysNAND backup is 1.84 GB
>>
>>140773962
No, that's using the bundled boot.3dsx that loads Luma directly. You'll have to make a boot entry yourself otherwise.

But there's not much reason to still use CTRBootManager with Lum having an arm9 payload loader. You can just assign loading arm9 programs (Decrypt9, Emunand9, uncart, etc) to holding keys on Luma boot. There's instructions on the wiki on how to use it.
>>
>>140774258
>my emuNAND backup is 1.21 GB and my sysNAND backup is 1.84 GB
That doesn't seem right!
>>
>>140773962
if you do the exact same thing as the gif then you'll autoboot into Luma3DS directly from MenuHax

if you want to use CTRBootManager/BootCTR/whatevwer, then configure it to load Luma3DS.dat instead with the payload flag set and offset 0x12000

>>140774436
depending on which differently-abled version of EmuNAND9/Decrypt9WIP you're using your sysNAND backup will always be the same size or larger than your emu/redNAND backups.

if you have any backup that's smaller than 943MB (o3ds/2ds) or 1.21GB (n3ds) then you have a bad dump

the most recent builds of EmuNAND9 and Decrypt9WIP should be able to handle any valid dump and verify them for you if you have any concerns
>>
>>140774990
Well when making my backups I did use the Decrypt9WIP that was linked in the guide. So those backups I made >>140774832 should be fine then?
>>
>>140774323
>>140774487
I just like the couple second interval before I go into CFW, so that's why I wanted it. But really, there's no use for it anymore since I won't use rxTools again.

>if you want to use CTRBootManager/BootCTR/whatevwer, then configure it to load Luma3DS.dat instead with the payload flag set and offset 0x12000

I wish I understood what that means.
>>
I'm at the very end of part 3 of the github guide when it says to open up RedNAND after reinstalling menuhax.

I opened up Luma and I expected it to reboot into the home menu but it's black screen with the power lights still on. If I turn my 3DS off will I be booted into RedNAND?
>>
>>140774832
that's probably right assuming you a) got them from a not-buggy version of EmuNAND9/Decrypt9WIP and b) use a not-buggy version of EmuNAND9/Decrypt9/OTPHelper to inject them later

the file sizes match the expected maximal/minimal bytes for n3ds so lets all thank mr plailect and hope d0k3 knows what he's doing
>>
>>140775354
no, try again
>>
>>140775337
>I wish I understood what that means.

You can also just get a boot.cfg sample from gbatemp and change Reinand's name/path to Luma.
>>
>>140775337
i think the most recent versions of CTRBootManager/BootCTR are smart enough to take a .dat file as input and configure themselves to run it properly. older versions would have to be told "hey you, this isn't an arm11 3dsx file, load it as an arm9 executable starting at byte 73,728"
>>
>>140775354
It's alright for that to happen, that happened to me twice. Just power off your 3DS and try launching Luma3DS through your homebrew launcher again.
>>
>>140775387
>assuming you a) got them from a not-buggy version of EmuNAND9/Decrypt9WIP

Well I was just using that files that were linked in the Plailect guide.
>>
>>140775354
you might have the menuhax bug
with the power turned off, remove your SD card
then turn on your 3DS
once you're in the home menu, put the SD card back in and go to theme management
set any theme you want.
you'll have to launch homebrew launcher and run menuhax_installer again to complete the fix
>>
So has anyone been banned for installing ticks? Can nintendo even find out?
>>
>>140775767
yeah and since the files were actively being developed as the guide was being put together and revised there were a couple instances where the linked releases had bugs.
to be safe, you can download the current latest versions right now and use the validate NAND dump feature to make sure you're all safe to continue.
