I think this has come up before, but why do the Japs keep releasing VNs with tiny maximum resolutions so the art is super blurry when full-screen. Is it because the art is more expensive to do at 1080p and above or is it because nobody in Japan uses decent monitors with modern resolutions.

I read books AND VNs. I don't discriminate between them. The premise of Lost Colors interested me so I'm reading it, just like I would any book with a premise that interested me. Or reputation. Honestly, if you have "book" standards, the amount of VNs that are genuinely well written from a literary point of view is very little. Nowhere close to hundreds. Once you get past the first 50-100 or so, you'll be reading VNs that are just good by VN standards, meaning you have to be able to endure/enjoy lots of anime tropes. Stuff like AoKana and ChuSinGura for example are popular as fuck but I wouldn't call them "well-written" by a long shot, they're just fun shlock. Same goes for stuff like Sinsemilla or Himanatsu that require you to be able to enjoy slice of life and not consider them "padding" like most EOPs do.
It's over guys. I think it's finally time we start buying VNs seeing as Root Double will never get uploaded. It was a good run, but we have to start paying such good publishers like SP for their hard work.

Over the course of 7 years that is. How do I actually play the VNs?
It always remains the kind of "Can't wait for the good times when I have day off and get to that VN" looking forward to thing. It ends up as me only playing them on days when I get days off 2-3 or more. Very rarely on weekends. I can't just make it a casual thing. I need the whole day free to get full enjoyment from relaxing alongside a VN.
