Okay, I was fine with the straight swords. It was beatable with a variety of different strategies, particularly when used by shitters. Getting killed by them was annoying, but almost always because you slipped up.
I don't say this often, but this needs a nerf. Make the delay between the 2nd and 3rd hit longer or something.

How the fuck do I make the most out of a faith build?

Looking at the wiki, it seems like miracles are intended purely as a supplement to an otherwise melee playstyle, which is turning me off of making a pure cleric for my second playthrough.
Were I to be a wizard, and wanted to supplement my magic damage with fire, do pyromancies scale with INT *or* FTH? Or would I have to level both stats in equal amounts to have my pyromancies be as effective as my sorceries?

Level up str and dex until you can wield a broadsword, then reinforce the broadsword and put stats into HP/Stamina/STR/DEX. Get enough int to cast great magic weapon, and don't level up any casting related stats at all.
Once you get to the Profaned Capital and can get the REAL sorcery staff/scrolls, burn a pale tongue on a respec into an actual sorcery build.

No, enchants, darkmoon / dark / sunlight.
Get an enchantable weapon and just keep it normal, might want to have raw in the beginning.
Even with enchants you won't be doing as much damage as quality builds, but you'll have utility.

I need some help. I am going a Halberd build and I don't know where to dump next. First I put points to get the minimum requirements for the White Knight Halberd (26/16) and the then I put some in Vigor. I use pyromancies too. Should I dump some in faith and intelligence to get better pyromancies?

I joined all covenants. Sirris gave me Darkmoon Loyalty, joined Darkmoons at Anor Londo. Finished up Sirris's quest, got Mound Makers, then backtracked all the way through Cathedral of the Deep to find Rosaria's Fingers because that's where Leonhard said it was. Sirris got mad after that, but since I'd already done her sidequest I killed her once she called me an enemy

Also if you are having trouble with the Irithyll knights just use a charged ultra greatsword thrust and stunlock them to death. Irithyll is prolly my favorite area of this game so far.

There was a hint about the bridge right before it. When a huge fucking army of skeletons chased me, I hit the bridge because it was supposedly weak. If you're at the ledge you see "descend pop up"
Did Wolnir then went back and hit the bridge again to descend.
Archdragon Peak was because I saw the statue during my first run through the dungeon but since I didn't have a gesture that worked near it, I gave up bothering and just remembered where it was. I found Oceiros by accident because I went through the wrong passageway before Lothric Castle, killed Oceiros, got the gesture, cleared Untended Graves, then spent half an hour trying to find the statue in the dungeon and meeting the jailers again, because I couldn't remember the way to the cliff and assumed it was past the big group of them

bloodborne is as removed from the souls games while still being a part of the series as possible. it's got less stat reliance, more story focus with less focus on build variety, and the game is much easier and faster paced than souls games
also the atmosphere is completely different to anything before it (but DaS3 rips it off at times) so all of the above attracted a whole different crowd of people who normally don't play these games

everything fits together (somewhat) cohesively, the bloodborne-like gameplay is dazzling, the graphics are stunning, although taxing, the enemy design is fantastic, and I haven't had a dull boss so far
have to say my favorite moment so far was turning a corner in the Road of Sacrifices, thinking that knight looked familiar and oh shit I'm being shanked by a massive greatsword
I'm sad we've nearly reached the absolute end of the Souls series, but I feel like this is a good farewell to it
only things that disappoint me (however minor) are:

I was in the same mindset as you, not sure what I should spec into until I found a cool enough weapon to warrant such a commitment. So for the early game I just made a Raw Broadsword and dumped my early level up points into Vigor, Endurance, and Vitality. You can't go wrong putting points into those.I ended up using a [Heavy] Brigand Axe throughout the game. It's pretty legit. Great damage, fast, and you get like six swings in a row before you run out of stamina.

Just finished DS3, and while I was loving it, I started to get a sour taste towards the end of the game. It got to the point where it felt like it was dragging and I just wanted it to be over.

Split damage in DaS3 isn't as shit as it was in previous games because absorption is a shit stat compared to previous titles and their straight up defense.
The Crystal Sage's Rapier can and will also stunlock anyone for the entirety of your stamina bar, while having a good reach. You'll win a trade against a non-ultra weapon, especially if you stance because the backstep on the stanced R1 takes you out of the range of most one-handed weapons then your rapier hits them before the end of the animation.
No one uses the fucking rapier for the drop rate, they use it because it's the best melee Int weapon, even better than the crystal Great Corvian Scythe

Just beat the dancer it was so not very difficult, beat it 3rd try and on both failed attempts got it to about a fifth of its hp.
Aldrich however was a nightmare at least 15 tries to beat, i just kept getting one shotted by them spells.

All my first plays in souls games have been blind runs, and I always miss a few things but I'm pretty smart and observant, and generally figure most of the big things out the first time around.

I'm peeking into the thread for the first time, and everyone is talking about everyone at their firelink, and I've fought to Yhorm and all I have are the fire maiden, the old hag, the blacksmith and the nun from Carim.
I saw siegfried once, but he was gone forever after that. The girl in the elite knight set came to firelink once, but I had to kill her bodyguard in smouldering lake and she was nowhere to be found. Everyone else has either died or disappeared, and I can't seem to find anyone else...
What compelled them to make this game so easy to ruin? Why make it so you NEED a guide just to not fuck up? Why do I have to pick between spoiling areas and bosses and having no comrades in firelink?

Man, that shit looks so much more beautiful than what we got in the final game. When I first saw that picture, I thought that the world would change in a much more drastic way than what happened after you kill Rom in Bloodborne. But it turns out I was wrong.
I know that most people are still in their honeymoon phase with this game, but I hope that within 3-4 months we can finally critique this game without fanboyism. There's a lot of stuff wrong with this game. Especially the bosses. It's got some of the most uninspired and easy bosses in the series. I really feel like Miyazaki was just phoning this game in to finish his contractual obligation with Bamco.

At some point since the DaS1 story, they repaired the window you'd walk out of to get the Dragonslayer Greatbow. If you have this issue, it's not about SL/weapon. Try REO and see that you get instant invasions regardless of your SL/WL. It's some really weird shit. Maybe it's related to some specific action, like pissing them off without any actual notice about them being pissed off... or something, I don't know really. I personally noticed that my whole online game started acting really weird after I killed Crystall Sage - signs before her room randomly appeared and disappeared even though she was dead for me already; at the same time my Steam suddenly turned offline and couldn't connect for ~20 minutes; after that I had 'can't place summon sign' error and also stopped being summoned for Watchdogs completely. However, just got to Aldritch Faithful today - getting summoned literally every 1-5 seconds.
If it's not about PC, I don't even know WTF is going on. Could it be related to some specific router settings?

Obviously the bosses are easy for the veterans nowadays, people have been playing the same game for like 6(?) years now. I replayed DES earlier this year and I literally died twice, and that's because I fucking fell. They can't exactly make harder bosses without destroying the game for 90% of the player base. Gundyr and the other fast fellas are probably a pain for most players.At least it seems that way since 90% of hosts suicide to them...
And compared the DES, DAS1 and 2, this one has by far the hardest base game bosses. Never played BB, so I have no idea about that one.
