Start with Knight, a straight sword of your choice and then build to whatever looks fun.

It takes ages to decrypt, it's a pain in the ass.
Many people with really fast internet connections report downloading the entire thing at launch is way faster than the decrypting process, and they are right, I only have 6 mb/s download speeds and it's still slightly faster. Steam's encryption wasn't too bad before, but now that games are 20gb or more it's getting to ridiculous levels, prepare to rage hard at the decrypt times

Hidden mechanic, I've seen purple summons to activate when I've invaded as a red, but only very rarely. Mound Maker's are weird. You ever noticed sometimes when you summon one, there's a magical puff of smoke that happens with no idea what happened?
Sometimes you invade via sign as Mound Maker, and the enemies don't attack you. Other's, they do. Sometimes invading with Orb makes the pve hostile as well.
There's some strange shit going on with that covenant. My theory is that there's some kind of hidden gravelord like mechanic to it that no one knows about yet. Like maybe if a mound maker had been in the hosts world previously and died, mound maker signs will become visible to any reds in that world for a period of time to summon.
Or, it's some hidden opposing covenant shit like Bloodborne, where it ONLY works if the host is in Sunbro's or Way of Blue or something as well as some weird chance.
They're purple for a reason. I believe even Blue's can summon them.
