It's not like you have to discard autoheal entirely if you have WB. You just don't have to stack it too much so it becomes a pain to keep your captain ability on. In the newer forests though I've seen WB teams with heavy healing sockets, which sounds weird but works.

Is there any reason to use Drake if you have WB? I mean I know you have the type difference, but His stats suck compared to most RR int units, his special is almost never useful on a WB team, since you're rarely going to be above 50% health, and when you are above, you'll not be fighting things strong enough to kill you. I can see Squard being used (though personally I'd just use him as a Sub for WB) because he has the damage and a good special, but Drake just seems bad by any metric.

It's inevitable really, if things had stayed at the same powerlevel, then there'd be no incentive to roll for new batches unless you just like the characters, especially for things like the strawhats, where they already have 5 different versions of each, so the only reason is for collectors or because they're just better. It's standard power creep designed to maintain cashflow, it's why CCGs do the whole format thing, to require people to get new stuff, but by invalidating the old overpowered shit, they don't have to come up with even more overpowered shit (if this game did that, G3 would be gone.)

I'll give you an advice that I learned the hard way. If a unit has a special that isn't just damage dealing, it could be useful on the right circumstances. For example Gin only deals 7x of his attack in QCK damage, that's bad, pearl on the other hand changes meat orbs to STR orbs, that's good.
Just read the units special and if it isn't just damage dealing or if the ability doesn't overlap with another unit you already have unless it had a lower cooldown. Keep the unit.
