Because there's not enough content. I already ground through most of the content that interests me, and even through some which I don't care about as much.
WG knows this, hence why they came up with these get-a-reskinned-ship events. But WG NA, in all of their wisdom, decided to do something different to every other server. And by different, I mean fuck it all up.
Game peaked up to 14k at primetime in early 2016, up from 10k in November, thanks to ARP and Project R events. As soon as they ended, it has gone down to 10k-9k in march. It went up a bit with the Soviet Cruisers, but it's already back to it's ever-shrinking trend.
And yes, despite popular belief, collecting is one of the main reasons to play these kind of games. Otherwise I'd be playing Battlestations with everything unlocked. Having enough content to keep collectors collecting is key to maintaining interest, and money flow, in these kind of games. This game has a great deal more in common with MMORPG's than you want to believe.
I am a total shitter, and I know it, but I am using my problem in my aiming and skills to iimprove and try to change how I play to fuck kids up. (sub 45% win rate here) and I also am about to get Amagi BB

I already have a Yamato.
I have Iowa, Fletcher and Baltimore. I'm in no real hurry to get their T10's since Fletcher and Iowa are plenty good, and T10 shimakaze META + ridiculous repair costs just discourage me further.
Have Ibuki, but again, barely interested because it's barely any fun, and T10 is not even that fun to make the grind worth it.
Elited Hiryuu and could get Shoukaku, but I don't feel like playing CV's right now. I have a freshly-unlocked Ranger, but no will to play it. I only enjoyed Independence because of Team Battles fun.
I have no interest in IJN DD's, they're outright boring. Up to Tashkent with RU DD's, but Tashkent itself is very underwhelming, and even though I have heard good things about Udaloi, it has been the same kind of gameplay since T5. Turret destruction doesn't help.
German Cruisers are kinda fun, but I don't like them as much as USN or IJN. Soviet Cruisers are way too similar to German Cruisers, but worse; if they had been something completely different, like heavily armored cruisers with shit guns (or something, ANYTHING), it'd have been interesting.
The worst thing about this? I'm not even a NEET. I only play for 2-3 hours when I come back from work, and I don't even binge during the weekends.
But hey, blame it on me. It's not like plenty other people have stopped playing. It's not like the server numbers keep going down everyday.

I had Nagato captaining my IJN fleet except for Nagato herself. I was a bit eh about this, my current commander was cute but Nagato on Nagato would suit my autism.
then I came to the realization of something
This was Nagato doing her best to look after the other botes while she wasn't sortied. Being my most experienced bote she was taking good care of the other less experienced shipgrills. She wasn't as knowledgable in other ship classes as she was in battleships, but she tried her hardest.
Thus began the story of fleet admiral Nagato and her second in command who took over when she was sortied, which is my commander on Nagato.

play on the lower tiers (e.g. II-IV preferably) and use cruisers, perfect practicing ground where every match is basically HE spam, there's at least 70% less muh torpedo spam/muh citaspam/muh bomberspam bullshit, and if you get the basics of arty brawling and angling down you can clean up or at least enormously narrow your WR and WTR gap. it's padding but if you keep failing at the higher tiers then you should be staying at III slowly improving until you're ready to graduate from shitter status anyway and you have much less to lose and will be less likely to be dragging your whole team down anyways.
if you haven't already started the new russian CA/CL line the Booger is, as of right now, a stupidly fucking powerful tier III. I've been a ~50.30% WR fag since closed beta and have tried every tech tree line in the game up to at least tier IV, and even though I find most ships below tier IV-V generally harder to rate I found myself fucking adoring the Boogertyr because of its armor and low-caliber spammy guns. I've kept mine well after unlocking the svetlana and in only some 60 games have gotten a much higher ratio of confederates, krakens, and arsonists than with any other same-tier cruiser and also have a disproportionately high frag ratio and WR in it as well. assigning a commander with a tier 4 perk such as demolition or advanced firing training only makes it better.
st. louis is also a good low-tier ship because of its stupidly high HP (not much less than the SC). but yeah if you're a shitter and readily admit it, at least try to learn the game mechanics and improve, travel with someone and don't YOLO, play the versatile cruisers before you decide to experiment with any other, more role-oriented ship class, and don't move up to the next ship tier until you've attained a comfortable record in your current ship at your current tier.

It was a great game, I didn't play BS Midway that much, but I heard that it was also great.
Had to play it again after they finally were able to unlock the DLCs, otherwise I won't have had the picture of the Super Yamato.
BS:P with modern graphics (Not that it was already bad), better ranging system, no MS Live gaming bullshit or whatever it was, and more varied missions would be all I need, maybe more control over the ship's modules would be nice too.

Use torpedoes often, especially against bots.
Play extremely aggressively. Doesn't matter if you die, you got three others.
You only need to get 10 HE hits to fulfill the mission, so try to get that first and then go full retard to die quickly in order to use the next boat.
I prefer using the Jap and Vodka ships over the others for the health potions and the speed boost.
I prefer Coop, but normal battles are fine.

If you're extremely OCD like me, just use a web archiver to manually archive your stats pages at the end of the year, in case you want to make reference to it in the future.
I had no idea that they would reset the graphs, and it was pure luck that I had made a snapshot in December 2015.
For warshipstats, it's best to use webcitation.org, since it breaks the least when it comes to CSS and Javascript, most things are functional. Archive.is mostly works but squishes a lot of things, and the dropdowns don't work, and web.archive.org doesn't grab the graphs.

For warships.today, webcitation.org doesn't work at all with the website, web.archive.org attempts to take a snapshot but the website doesn't provide them with your player stats because it identifies their trawler as a bot, and archive.is actually makes a working snapshot, but the dropdown buttons don't work.
