8 Hits where if you have high Magic can break the 9999 limit overall.
For example I was leveling summoner core in orbfest and put my best MAG gear on him and he did 1500ish per hit for a guesstimate total of 9000ish. Use him with a high MAG Gear named Summoner and it should do very well. Also, it can blind.

I'm downloading the xv puratinumu demo. How is the combat? I heard it was way more simple than duscae, that they made the just dodge automatically kill and enemy, and directional command attacks were removed.

A contributing factor to me focusing on the game itself may just be because I'm not a gigantic FF fan.
I've not followed the development cycle, so I don't really hold any standards of it.
I've played a couple of them though and am currently playing 14. But what knowledge I usually have is through Osmosis.
Mechanics are important to focus on though. It's plain to see they spent a fuck ton of the visual design and animations, so it's natural to think the gameplay suffers because of it.
Not sure if the gameplay is perfect but it's certainly unique. I'd need to see and play more, but from what I've played, I liked.

Well Staff of the Magi wasn't exactly easy to get from what I remember, but it amped up Ice damage pretty damn dramatically and had my BM actually doing comparable damage to everyone else. Only with Blizzaga though, pretty much everything else was a waste of time.

Yeah that's how I remember black mages: useful situationally, and just barely viable elsewhere. On enemies with elemental weaknesses they also deal comparable damage to everyone else, but that's situational too.

Are there any old or current FFXI players here who've downloaded the Ultimate Collection and are missing some of the expansion packs? According to my SE account, I should have RotZ and ACP, but they're grayed out on the title screen. I looked up forum posts of people with similar problems, but couldn't find any solution other than reinstalling the whole fucking thing over and over again, and I need this done...like now, otherwise I'll lose all my PS2 data.
Anyone know? I tried running FFXISetup again but it takes so long, I'm afraid it's doing shit I don't want it to.

You know, I bet kingsglaive is probably a brilliant business move for SE. They have 6-7 years of CGI created for versus xiii and XV that was either too much or the wrong direction for XV as we're getting it. They probably optimized, and re-rendered original parts and used original story to create a movie that would otherwise be alluded to in the game.

The demo is ass. There is so much input lag jesus crhist. The fps is bad, there are glitches like slowmotion not disabling for 10 seconds after you get hit, weapons attacking on even though you switched 2 hits ago, etc.

Sabin's is pretty lame since it's weak Regen.
And any non-Retaliate strategies mostlydepend on your SBs, at least until some other good 5* abilities come out. Like you said, Lifesiphon combined with damage SBs is the main one.

I'm pretty sure those "Chance to change attack to X" abilities all have a slightly lower multiplier than a regular attack. They're not worth it, mostly because you won't be using your regular attack in any important fight anyway.

First playthroughs should be blind entirely. People who use guides and walkthroughs unless they are entirely and utterly stuck are dumb.
Second or third playthrough is where you try to 100% the game. So guides are fully applicable.
Do the dualcast RMs make you use 2 ability charges, or is the second cast free?

I occasionally use Blue Moon Barrage when know I'm going to auto-battle my way through mobs before a boss. It can speed things up if it activates at the right time.

"chance to/will do X instead of attack" usually do more damage depending of the effect and your stats (Selphie's RM1 and RM2 are based on magic and mind, respectively), some of them are actually normal (but slightly weaker) abilities like Dia, Fire/Thunder/Blizzard, Double Hit, etc.
"deal elemental damage" won't affect the attack's base multiplier, but your attack will be "buffed" by elemental bonuses from equipment and by hitting enemy's weakness.
You can check almost all these multipliers on FFRK's PDF document (just google it, it will be one of the first results).

Having 4 medicas does not mean I have anything else of value. I've been playing for a year now, been using mostly mage heavy parties and still don't own a single 5* rod. I do have throwables (3), an instrument and an axe, but they're all bound to the one character that can use them. Which was another reason for banner 4, two MAG rods. And still no SG despite going all in for it every time it's featured.

That platinum demo was amazing. It took me about 1:20 to beat, I explored everything I could and took on the Iron Giant a couple of times. Duscae didn't grab me too much but I thought this was significantly better, I loved the giant dining room scene especially which reminded me of the Wonderland environments in KH1. I was just told that this Web Zone is a great place to discus Final Fantasy games!
What is everyone's favorite Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Character!!
My favorite Final Fantasy is FFVIII. Ironic, I typically hate romance in games but I loved VIII for that very thing. Probably because I felt they actually did it well and explored Squall's personality really well, along with the other characters being the most realistic cast in a Final Fantasy. So I guess none of the other games I've played with romance in them has stood much ground in comparison. Still though, the game is far from perfect. I wish the other characters were fleshed out more. Well, a lot more. As a kid I was shocked about the Orphanage part but as an adult its quite an eye roller.
Ranting again. My favorite character...honestly I can't say. I like parts of many of them for entirely different reasons. In how I like Selphie and Yuffie for being bubbly and insane, I like Lulu and Quintis for being smart, or Vincent or Auron for being so mysterious and badass. Maybe when I play FFXIII I'll give one of them a mention. Just by looking at her, I get a feeling I'll really like Fang. XD

Does anyone who's been a long time player of the series/specific games have those points in the game where you just don't feel like playing anymore? I have played probably most FF games from IV-XII at least 2-3 times through and whenever I try to replay them now I just get to certain places in the game and really lose my motivation to play, to the point where I have to really force myself to get through it in order to keep playing. Its nothing in specific, just certain points of the story I really don't enjoy playing, maybe because its just a tedious part, maybe its just not a fun part, it varies from game to game.

Nothing. There is nearly no point to them with how slowly you get them. I guess save them till you get a really good weapon you are sure you wont replace for a long ass time.
Thry could fix augmenting by letting you used 5* that are combined to that. So you get 3 3* items use all the mats to combine and get it to gold then throw it away for a single attack power on a good weapon. As it is augmenting is worthless
