>there are light-up stone tablets hidden around and I don't know what they do
I fucked up and only looked at the thumbnail.
It looked kind of like the image where Drifter is sitting next to the fire.
About time someone made one of these.
North boss is fucking me up atm. His second phase is brutal.
Fuck /v/, what a shithole. Anyway, does anybody know how to finish the last dungeon on the northern end? I mean the one that's closest to the hub, pic related I've got no idea what to do. I've finished the other three.
>bootleg ps3 controller doesn't work properly
Fuck I dont want to play this shit with a keyboard.
So far it's a bretty good game. Aesthetics are good, music is nice and moody, combat is pretty fun and fast-paced, and other than the 30 fps cap it's good. Just beat the east boss who was really easy compared to the north one.
>>137146601
Go slow, and try not to dash once he starts doing the cascading explosions.
Just get like three hits in, and then move to a safe square. Dashing will usually put you into an unsafe square because of the distance
>>137146649
Did you kill the big boss yet?
Those only lowered for me once I killed the boss
>Legitimately good game comes out
>Retards claiming it's all shills and focus more on what some guy's political opinion on twitter is
I mean, I know it's to be expected on /v/ but I'm still tired of that shit.
Now to try and figure out how to get the last shard in East section.
>>137146495
You most certainly did fuck up.
>>137146601
When he starts doing the row by row attacks just stop using your dash, it's much easier to just run and avoid them.
>>137146649
also answered in the /v/ thread but "You can't get through it until you beat the boss, those indicators on the blocks in your way mean that direction's tower needs to be activated for them to go down and get out of your way."
Also going to start spoiling webms in case people want to be surprised by shit, this is the second boss in the south. It was pretty fuckin rad.
>>137146870
I unlocked 3 other things (that shit you pull out of the ground) and the boss area is still locked down from what I can tell.
>>137146649Go to the tele, then go north until you run into the blockade, then go east and you should see some stairs and then some jumps leading south.
>>137146925
I gave up on /v/ long ago. Try to discuss new games there and all you get is "MUH SHILLS SHILLS" or if it's a good indie game with effort, "SJW SHIT". No one really discusses games there, they discuss their outrage over them.
>>137146925
It's real sad, like how people couldn't enjoy Undertale because of Toby Fox being an SJW.
Glad new devs with good opinions area making games instead of old racist grandpas.
>>137147136
Way to miss the point fucktard.
Played for several hours. The pacing is off due to overreliance on dashing and extremely simplistic environment design. The symbols used are pretty unintuitive and there is nothing subtle about exploration hints which makes the whole thing feel both hamfisted and pretentious (use of sound to emphasize what is already obvious is near-painful). Gameplay is good for western standards but the aforementioned reliance on dodging and the 30fps under which the game runs never adds fluidity to combat, you always feel as something is hampering your character.
Color palette puts strain on the eyes and the boss battles are pretty simplistic affairs, one in particular looks like Artorias-lite and there's nothing to do when environmental destruction is concerned, nothing meaningful. When art design is this poor, the world can hardly feel enticing. In fact, some times I wasn't sure what's up and what's down, if you can step on a platform and if it's even a platform; everything feels like it's 0.1 inch thick stacked in vague space formations. It's particularly jarring when you try to explore.
What is it with western indie devs's fascination with Souls games when they can barely make pixel art?
>>137147136
I don't give a shit about what opinions a dev has when it comes to what game I buy. If Satan made a game and it was good, I'd buy it, because that's what ultimately matters here, the quality of the game.
>>137147443
>Dark Souls is the only game I've ever played
I mean, not everything you said is off, but damn if your writing isn't that very hamfisted pretentiousness you accuse the game of.
send help
>>137147443
tldr; japan is true video game culture! west sucks!
>>137147718
My claim was that the constant name dropping of Souls games in indie dev circles seems like a strange fixation. It's as if they all realized what is storytelling through map design at the same time, or what are moveset patterns.
>>137148036
West certainly cannot make good gameplay more often than not. If you weren't a memester you could have seen I said that the gameplay is good for western standards which means it's average at best. I don't know what there is to praise in particular. You dodge, you slice and you pew pew boom.
Every time I try to launch the game from Steam it crashes and my display driver crashes, any help?
>>137148447
Are you drivers up to date?
Have you tried rebooting your computer?
>>137148340
And yet the only one comparing it to Souls games is you. Are you the guy who posted the image of a campfire in the game and claimed that was ripping off Dark Souls?
The most legitimate comparison this game has is to a Zelda game in terms of the overworld, exploration, and fairly light objectives given to the player.
Here's a legitimate complaint about the game: some of the perks don't work quite right or as you'd expect them to. As an example, the projectile shield on your dash is programmed in such a way where it only activates if the game thinks you're going to go near projectiles, but its detection of this is often times faulty, leading to you taking damage that you should have negated.
what the FUCK do i do
Do i have to take items from the east path to progress up the north path or something?
I've collected 4 gold pieces and forged 1 what i assume is currency
i can't get to the boss
im constantly low on health
i need to git gud
>>137148861
North, East, and West are all available for anyone to go on, though I really wouldn't suggest West first. If you're getting fucked, you might try teleporting back to town; you can walk out the East gate and head south a bit to pick up a health pack, then teleport back to town and repeat till you're full - then try again on the path you want. Keep exploring and look for stuff, there are tons of little hidden side rooms with med packs and currency.
>>137148638
yes and yes, I even uninstalled my driver and reinstalled it
>>137147000
that mini boss was really easy if you just bum rush the shit out of him, since you destroy his orbs at the same time that you hurt him. he never gets to do any damage
or you could use the "sword reflects projectiles" upgrade and fling his own shit back at him
i love how every puzzle piece in the south world gets its own mini boss
>>137149232
Oh yeah I beat him second try, I just stuck on top of him and every time he summoned I'd just heavy swing and kill all of them.
Just loved the surprise when he popped out and Touhou'd me the first time.

How are you guys taking screenshots? Neither printscreen nor F12 work for me. Also dashing in the direction of the mouse just isn't intuitive for me. Shooting is, but not dashing. I keep trying to dash in the direction I'm facing.
I do have an 360 gamepad. Does it play better?
>>137150326
dashing is much more intuitive with a gamepad, but aiming is a little harder, as one would expect.
>>137150326
I use fraps for videos and just been using the windows snip tool for screenshots.
I've been playing with a PS3 controller set up to behave as a 360 controller and it works. Aiming the guns isn't great, but everything else is pretty good. Well, except you have to use the analog stick, you can't use the dpad to move. All the functionality of the dpad is that down makes you sit.
If you can't get the game to work, email:
[email protected]
and maybe attach your DxDiag too, as that's always very helpful.
Just e-mailed them about a freeze bug I'm getting that pretty much requires that I reboot my PC.
>>137150532
>>137150575
Just tried it out a little. Yeah, gunplay becomes very awkward, but the hack n slash is a ton more satisfying. Guess I'll just switch back to mouse for sniping. Can't you aim while standing using right stick or something?
>>137151110
Left stick, can't move while aiming.
>>137151110
Hold left trigger and it roots you in place and lets you control an aiming reticle with the right stick

I can't even take a game off him period.
>>137151895

I assume it's another cloak.
>>137151502

what's the best first upgrade to get?
i'm thinking the agility store is probably the most useful one first, i dunno which to get though
i haven't come up against enough projectiles for the dash shield to be viable, unless it also blocks melee attacks
>>137151895
kick off with a heavy swing to instantly score on him ~60% of the time. the heavy swing in general is good for stealing the ball and giving it enough momentum to put it near his goal
>>137151502
projectile reflection with the sword is probably the best upgrade in the game
>>137152205
Nah it's my bad. This little shit has been pissing me off. Couldn't read properly.
Where'd you get this first new cloak?

What a pointless minigame.
Just now beat the bird dude, took a few tries. The forced distance for dash kind of fucked me up a few times due to the fact that I'm playing with Kb+m and I can see my cursor, always assume I'll jump to the cursor which is obviously not the case.
How's everyone else enjoying the game?
>>137153453
Well, at least you confirmed it for the rest of us.
What an awful minigame.

>>137156150
Just beat the game actually. Disappointingly there is not a lot after the 4 regions. I did not take all the time to explore everything and it took me about 10 hours, give or take. I'll be spending a lot more time actually doing the extra shit next playthrough.

>>137156309
You can dash diagonally from the bottom up. I did it without any upgrades. Just need health pads.
just out of curiosity.. how long does it usually take for someone to come out with a crack for a game like this....
So does infini-dash allow you to traverse larger gaps? There's a golden coin piece to the right of one of the northern maps immediately outside the village, where you gotta dash from a ledge like 4 pixels wide. I can't fucking reach it.
As a tip the shot gun you receive at the end of the East path makes the west path way easier, it can one shot dash lancers and do 70% or more to the crystal guardians.
Plus since the environment crystals regrow you can sword spam them for firearm meter.
>>137168295
There's both a crack and the DRM free version, have you ever googled in your life?
The text in my game is nothing but black boxes. Is there any fix for this?
How do I get down here for the 3rd piece? In the western area.
My screen is entirely black when I start the game, what the fuck to do? It does sounds and such so its working underneath.
>>137170771
Go trough the wall on the right in the upper right cell.
>>137173162

Any idea how to open?
I went to the northern path first. I got to the top of the mountain where there's some diamond on a pedestal shown to you by the camera. I thought this might activate the boss, but I wanted to explore. I took a left and went down an elevator shaft into some kind of dungeon with lots of moving blocks you have to dash past.
Well, I got smashed against a wall by one of the blocks, glitched and flew past a gate into another room with blocks that slam sequentially (so there's no way to backtrack). The path forward is a room with three bird casters, followed by ten flying birds plus three more casters plus god knows what else because that's as far as I can get. After ten deaths I'm out of meds.
Is there some kind of trick to this? I get attacked from all sides so there's nowhere to dodge.
Kill me
>It took me 4 deaths to figure out this puzzle
I'm getting too old for this shit.
>>137178648
Git gud. Dodging doesn't make you invincible so don't spam it. Learn to use the gun in between your sword moves. Instead of aiming, just try to feel the direction and just leftstick + shoot.
I have a feeling I know what room you're talking about. After the flying bird wave, there's shouldn't be too much more. If you can, screenshot it.
I kill final boss
How long is the game? I killed the north boss and picked up the 4th shard and I'm hovering a little over an hour

switch your control setting to mouse and keyboard
pick an open space at the bottom of the room. set your mouse cursor there. you will dash back and forth in the same spot without needing much room.
so now the only thing you need to worry about it mashing your space bar - not too fast and not too slow. i did it by synching with a metronome. you can also download a program or make a simple script that will mash your space bar for you, and then you'll have it.

i got the green and blue outfit from the west which looks really nice, except i have no idea if it's possible to change your headgear. i thought mine changed when i went to the south and unlocked that outfit from the dead guy, but maybe that's a permanent change?
i'm waiting for some motherfucker to make a guide for the puzzle pieces, because that frog zone is so tedious to try and explore every inch of. the way everything interconnects is really awkward
how the fug do i get into this room on the left? tried dashing from every angle. it's an inch too far. i can see there's a locked door over there when i dash
>>137247626
in the process of waiting to post the image i forgot, i tried the dash+attack combo a couple times and it somehow worked after like 10 tries
>>137247779
nice anon, can you show us the rest of the room or a general location on the map? ill try to replicate your success
>>137247962
from the teleporter, go into the green room directly southwest of you. from there, instead of going into the room where you get locked in with enemies, just go straight north and then look to your left
i was one key short of getting inside, i think it needs 12. all i could see in there was an extra key, but there's probably more secrets inside
>>137248071
fuck, you're right
>>137248297
shit son, i found a third locked door i didn't know about. surface level, far southwest, go down into the chamber where you're locked in with several big plants and shooter dudes. there's a secret room to the left that only requires ~2 keys
>>137248297
>>137247779
Inside isthe white cape set.
>>137246449
I'm working on it, but when I started NG+ then closed the game before the intro finished, it deleted my data, so I've been starting over again and just screenshotting where I find everything.
I'm only through the East on a first pass, still missing 1 diamond and some stuff behind key doors.
>>137248846
nah it was the orange one. where the fuck is white? that sounds pretty nice.
found another secret with one of the big white stone blocks that removes those path blockers. i have no clue which ones it removes
it sure is a lot easier to find this shit when you aren't playing on 36 hours without sleep
>>137248950
shit son, glad you were the one to discover that saving glitch instead of me. i'm waiting until i find all 8 puzzle pieces in each zone before i do the final boss, to see if it changes the ending
>>137249078
Sounds to me like it's randomized then, because I literally went in there shortly before I posted and it was the white set for me.
>>137249607
I think there's some confusion. The door requiring only 1-2 keys leads down a path that ends in the orange set, or at least it did for me.
The other door that needs like 12 keys probably contains this white set you're referring to?
>>137249795
Yeah, I did respond to posts picturing the 12 key door, so I got confused why you said the orange set was in there.
fuck, i refreshed the page and now i have this hideous april 1st layout
besides the two locked doors we mentioned, where's the third in frog place? i remember seeing it somewhere and thinking "i need to come back here when i have enough keys"
>>137250373
There's one that you get to by going towards the boss room, in the area before where you fight too many frogs, there's an area to the west. there's a door in there.
>>137250373
There's one that requires 12 keys, which you are aware of.
There's another that requires 1 key, which you are also aware of, and leads to the orange set.
The extra door that you are referring to is on the lower level somewhere southeast, I believe. You may have already opened it. It's a lab filled with a lot of shooter and frog dudes as well as containers of that explosive purple jelly that the frogs like so much. There's a skeleton near the locked door. I think it just leads to another puzzle piece.
>>137250826
how do you get back to that area? the path that leads to the west from the pre-boss room doesn't appear anymore if you've already defeated the boss.
there are 2 hidden paths leading in and out of a secret room that WOULD let me get back to that area, but it's blocked off by pink blocks. presumably you have to remove those by hitting a switch on the OTHER side that i can't reach anymore since i beat the boss
>>137250971
nevermind i'm retarded and forgot you have go north and then come back to the room to trigger the second fight that unlocks the path
>>137250971
After you kill all the frogs, walk towards the boss door, then walk back. a bunch of new frogs show up, kill them and the path shows up again.
Anyone remember where the east 8 fragment door is? Been looking for like an hour.
Here's a map of all east fragments in return.
>>137251390
from teleporter take the north/northeast path, look for a green door on your left. go through that tunnel, reach the surface again, go west a little then go north
HISSSSS
>>137236936
You dont even need a macro to pull it off.
Just turn off the sound, because the sound dash queue is misleading.
>>137251530
Fuck those charging enemies, they kept destroying me in the gauntlet.
>>137251441
Thanks man!
>>137251659
>rave party
>>137251390
how do you reach the piece showing in the northwest area (more west than north)?
>>137252258
Follow these instructions. -> >>137251441
>>137252508
i know how to reach that surface level area of the map, but i have no clue where that core piece is hiding. is it underground and i have to find some different path from another area to it?
>>137252742
No, it's on the surface. That's the one >>137248950
Just done with the eastern area, which ones the closest to it in terms of difficulty?
>>137252742
immediately after writing that post i accidentally stepped on the button that reveals the path to the core piece
Today as I started Hyperdrive it needed an update and now it won't detect my dualshock 4.How did this happen?
>>137253370
yer a faggot, harry
>>137251871
what did you find in there? all i got was a bunch of yellows and a new gun. feel like i missed an outfit or keys or something
I fucking hate these frogs
I fucking hate this area
Does it get better, please tell me it gets better
Just got all the triforce pieces in the North, it seems the 8 panel doors just lead to hordes of enemies, some gold and the damn indecipherable inscriptions.
But hey, at least we know where the third statue portal leads from.
>>137253690
the frogs were the most annoying area by far. north is ok, west and south are great
>>137253575
There's a stone tablet in there. Dunno about keys or outfits. Outside, not in the dungeon.
Anyone beat the black kid at soccer? Was I supposed to not get anything for it?
>>137253472
What the fuck are you on about?
>>137253729
the giant tablets with inscriptions seem to remove those offwhite colored path blockers in various places around the entire map
>>137253781
the only reward ishaving fun
>>137253781
you mean there's a tablet somewhere beyond the 8 pieces door? fuck
How are you supposed to get past these blocks?
>>137254068
Activate the north pylon after beating the boss.
can someone post the 8 core locations in the north?
Where do you get the orange set?
I CHECKED THE FILES, THERE IS NO ALTERNATE ENDING
All is lost, and that's all there is.
The tablet, when decoded, may shed light on the setting, but what we get is what we get, and the alternate drifter has no special cutscenes of his own, not even a story, given the fact that nothing happens when you collect 4 pieces in any area or beat bosses.
>>137254696
Eastern area, lower level. You need at least 1 key. Head south from the warp point, it's down in one of the two doors. Forgot which one.
>>137254763
Yeah, Reddit was bitching because a lot of promised content has been cut since alpha / initial KS screenshots. Not the first time that a KS game has come up short tho.
Does the alternate drifter even play differently?
>>137254324
Hit a switch there. No idea what it did. Humped the walls for a good half hour.
So I've gotten enough of those whatever the fucks to open the lower right door by the warp point in the east area but when I go in the direction of the boss room I can't get across. I don't really know what I'm missing because I feel like I've gone everywhere that I'm able to.
Also I found a hidden pathway to some stone tablet thing but when I interacted with it some guy showed up, scanned it I guess, and then disappeared. I couldn't even read it afterwards so I don't know what the fuck that was about but I assume it's important.
>>137255182
No, I mean the giant thing with an arrow that comes out of the ground.
Well this took a few tries, but I've found 4 keys and all the puzzle pieces in the East so far. Need to go behind the 8 piece door and see what's back there.
Game crashed at 800 in the dash challenge. Fucking wow.
>>137255346
In the northern area, if you head west, you should rediscover the area that you were in at the very start of the game.
Past this and where you passed out, you'll find a room filled with 16 active and inactive tablets. Activate all 16 and the chest in the center of the room will probably open for you.
>>137255926
It seems to crash on "zone" or "on save" when the musc/sfx were set all the way down.
Setting the music and sound off was great advice for the challenge, but it seems to crash unless set to at least 1 pip in the settings.
>>137254981
He's the best
A shame he only has 3 health, he has faster and longer ranged basic attacks as well as a slightly bigger drift distance. Altogether he plays like heaven or hell or from DMC3
anybody know how to free the crystallized raccoon guy in the tree house in the west forest?
also, where do i find keys? I've seen a couple locked doors but never keys
Who else /dashmaster/ here?
So the shotgun from the Early Build was behind the 8 piece gate in the East, that's neat.
>>137254879
One door leads to the boss area, the other door has a big underground map but I havent found any 1 key doors there, only an 8key door.
>>137256649
Get on my level, scrub.
This game is fucking hard faggots. Any tips?
>>137258053
Literally just get the quick dash upgrade, the sniper rifle and the bullet absorption upgrade and you can cheese the whole game
>>137258053
As soon as possible get chain dash, then heavy strike. They are absurdly helpful in and out of fights. You can quickly alternate between slashing and firing the pistol to do damage quickly without any other guns/upgrades. Take your time and look around, you'll find a lot of currency/medkits in hidden areas, if you spend enough time exploring you'll even find extra guns/cosmetic shit.
>>137207720
Get a sweet maroon dulled down cape from that drifter you see every now and then that locates more fragments for youif you let him die
Also got a rad sandy yellow one from the first locked door that requires one key in the east.
>>137258524
Okay. Is there a good order to do the regions in? Stuck at East boss.
>>137258569
>Also got a rad sandy yellow one from the first locked door that requires one key in the east.
Where the hell is it? I still havent found it.
>>137228110mine was similar to that, although after sitting by the campfire was in a weird white/blue plain with Drifter standing there, then he started bleeding from his stomach and was like 'oh shit' and cupped his stomach and the camera panned upwards to white
>>137258905
east -> north -> west -> south
for east boss, just hit him twice, dash out, walk towards him and repeat. he will get locked into a single attack pattern and never even enter phase 2.
>>137258905
North - West - East - South.
>>137259362
>doing west before east
are you trying to trick the poor guy? west boss was the only difficult boss fight of all 4 regions
>>137259426
East is piss easy when you can oneshot ninjas, shooters and greandiers with 1 plasma shot.
>>137259426
>West Boss
>Hard
I beat it on my first attempt, get gud.
Also, anyone else familiar with the room in west where you dash through a bunch of crystal traps and get a cloak set at the end?
Well I opened the 16 key door and got the exact same set from in there, what the fuck game dev.
How do I unlock these two?
I have the advanced dash but I don't think I can double dash the gap and I haven't seen a key or anything for the door.
>>137262146
you need the sniper gun for that
>>137262146
Far as I know the door just doesn't unlock, once you shoot the pillar with the sniper though you can get across and a path leads behind the locked door.
>>137260724
did you also one-shot all the other bosses, or did you have a hard time with any of them?
i one shot the frog and 2-shot the bird. i just kept having trouble with the samurai because the final swing of his combo hit such a huge area.
i could've just cheesed him on the first try by staying away from him and just reflecting his projectiles, but i wanted to go full coldsteel mode and dodge around hitting him in melee as much as possible
>you dash towards the cursor instead of just in the direction you're moving in
Is there a way to change this? I really don't like it.
>>137262504
use a gamepad
>>137262504
you can change it by playing on a controller like the game told you to
>>137262591
>>137262617
That's fucking retarded. I'm not using a controller for something that would be more comfortable for me using a keyboard and mouse.
>>137262815
>complains it's not comfortable with KBM
>backpedals
Ok, whatevs
>>137262815
how could a controller possibly be less comfortable for a game that was designed for controller?
do you have no thumbs? is your controller covered in fire ants?
These ninja frog encounters are the absolute worst thing ever and I want to know what the fuck they were thinking.
And they just keep fucking coming, holy god damn shit.
>>137262919
I'm not complaining it's not comfortable with a KB+M I'm complaining that the dev is a fag and didn't put in basic control options. Whatever, this and the shitty accuracy on the gun along with the clusterfuck of pixels that the combat has been so far are making me drop this game. It plays like a worse version of Transistor.
Finished the game with KMB, took me a long time though. And the only problem is the fact that the pointer sometimes blend in with the background colors. Its like the creators thought its not that important which is bullshit because the majority of me having fun is when im fucking around with moving one way then dashing another way then slashin then moving and dashing again.
>>137154942
Northeast of the bed in your own house.
>>137259704
East is easy in general aside from it being a fucking un-navigable maze. Definitely first zone to go to. Tip:Frogboss can also be stunned by using his exploding plants against him
>>137258905
East's boss is perhaps the easiest since it's not a complete clusterfuck. You can stun him and get a good 2-3 full combos in if you explode one of his pukeblobs on him. Save ammo for the ending phase, shotgunspam should be good.
So...
Chaindashing with a controller is bullshit and I can't do it reliably even after playing this + the preview for well over 12 hours total.
The map ought to show all locked doors you've discovered and what they require to be opened, as it is now you're forced to look through every nook and cranny again to find doors you've recently gotten keys for. It should also more accurately reflect the world and your current location because as it is it's insanely easy to get lost in this maze that's identical everywhere and the map is completely unhelpful. Especially the underground lab and the East zone.
Every boss except the frog (and West when you have chaindash) is a race to kill the fucker before you take enough (virtually) unavoidable damage. No wonder the frog is the only boss they've showcased so far.
Game could use SOME diegetic text to tell you what the fuck is going on.
Forcing you to buy upgrades is pointless and atleast chaindashing should be baseline. There is not sufficient explanation as to what you are buying either. Sometimes the dash-projectile-shield works and sometimes not - WHY?
Your health should have a greater resolution i.e 10 points instead of 5 with an increase in enemy damage aswell obviously. This would allow for finer tuning of enemies' damage i.e spiders not taking one block same as samuraidudes.
Need tickboxes in options for toggling constant display of HUD elements.
Overall I am pretty fucking disappointed with this game.
>>137263329
Are you sure it's not just because you suck at the game and need to
>git gud?
Anyone got a map of all northern fragments?
Map is small but I cant find the last two.
>>137263871
Probably. But there are a bunch of little things rubbing me the wrong way about this game unrelated to the difficulty and I doubt that's going to get any better as the game goes on.
>>137263819
>Chaindashing with a controller is bullshit and I can't do it reliably even after playing this + the preview for well over 12 hours total.
Thank god it's not just me, I thought my controller was just fucking up or something.
>>137263329
The default gun is supposed to be inaccurate, that's why it has so much ammo. The other guns have half the ammo capacity, deal 2 damage, the projectile flies exactly where you aim, plus they have various effects depending on the gun.
>>137262457
The west boss was the only one of the 4 I one-shot, the rest took two attempts.
Also I didn't have projectile reflect when I did it.
These two last triangles in the north ARE KILLING ME!
The map is so small, the east fucking labyrinth was easier to 8/8.
I've fully upgraded my equipment (I think) yet I have 1 gear and 1 gear piece left over, I guess that was done because there are several gear pieces that you can't get without certain upgrades, so not getting those first would mean you couldn't unlock everything.
Also I can't find 2 of those obelisks with the writing, one west, one south.
I'll keep looking.
Figure I'll post what I have before disappearing for a day - this is an incomplete map of the East region, it doesn't really indicate where in these areas the things are, and the icons kind of suck, but I figure it might be handy for some people.
Eventually I'll get around to making icons that don't suck and putting stuff like the cloaks in there. I know I'm missing one key door in here at the very least.
>>137269386

Should I have more or rather could I have more? I ain't finding shit.
>>137281798
Total:
32 triangle fragments
16 stone tablets
16 keys
like 6 color sets
Keep looking. :3
>>137282308
I meant weapons specifically. I assume they lie around like the laser one before the boss. I wonder if I already missed them.
>>137283184
North boss drops railgun.
West boss drops plasma.
East boss drops shotgun.
Dunno about south boss.
Found one gun in one of the secrets, dont even remember wich map.
>>137283839
Well shit how did I miss the plasma gun then?
Thanks.
The blue cape lowers (halves?) stamina use for dash-attacks, both A+B and B+A. Do we know the up/downsides to any other capes?
Oh, it also lowers the cost of chaindashing a whole lot.
>over .6million raised
>still only 3 hours long with everything promised getting cut
holy fuck what kind of disaster would this shit be if they only managed to hit the initial funding goal of 27k where the hell did the money go
Okay, is there any good spot to farm meds? I can't beat the frog boss on three health no meds.
>>137284547
Dunno. This game was in development for a looong time m8. pleddit has a list of features that were cut/left out, too, if you're interested.

Guess that's kickstarter for you
>>137284672
They respawn, so just warp to town or the eastern area's warp point for a free heal, locate the nearest med pack, grab it, warp back, it respawns, repeat.
>>137285002
Yeah, I know they respawn. I spent half an hour fucking farming them only to use them all up by the time I actually got to the boss.
I'm asking if there's a specific one that is very easy to get.
>>137284547
judging by screenshots and older trailers, they most likely cut shitload of content for very high fidelity pixelart
most of it wouldn't fit the final aesthetics, hell even their enemy/boss examples on kickstarter were highly inconsistent when it comes to artstyle and animation quality
either way it's very disappointing, but on the other hand this is shaping to be one of my favorite games of all time so I really shouldn't feel this way
This game thinks I'm really fucking stupid.
All the secrets are painfully obvious and the game tries it's hardest to say SECRET HERE. Or maybe that's just the result of the devs running out of ideas on how to hide things and just reused tree-covered paths, small ledges, and invisible platforms over and over. Invisible platforms are funny because unlike the other secrets that give visual cues these just straight up put an icon above your head that says SECRET HERE IDIOT. I guess that's the best they could do to prevent people from just jumping to their deaths constantly but I would have preferred a better solution entirely to hiding a secret. maybe I'm just finding the easy ones but I've been pretty thourough
Doesn't help that the levels are pretty linear making them even easier to spot.
I've only beaten one boss so I wont assume the others are the same but the bird boss fight is like straight out of a fucking mmo with all the stupid DONT STAND HERE IDIOT telegraphs
>>137285653
But you ARE stupid.
>>137285653
>I've only beaten one boss
should've put that at the beginning of your post so i could've discarded your opinion sooner
>>137285653
Can't fully agree but collecting stuff / exploring already stopped being fun in the second area for me.
I'd rather have a lot less stuff to collect and more elaborate areas instead.
You don't get anything for beating the cheating purple bastard at soccer?
I haven't even beaten a single boss yet and already this game feels like an obligation to finish after I backed it three years ago and bought the art book.
Is the game crashing on startup for anybody else?
Something in the pink drifter's set giver +1 grenade damage.
How do I even get this?
>>137292054
there's a switch behind the wall that spawns a hidden platform
>>137292054
To the left there is some white shit on the ground, that's the hint that there's a secret area.
Alright, where the fuck is the last tablet on North area?
1-One you get once you have 8 shards
2- another as secret in the house of Bird Man
3- other in the entrance of the North area.
4- ?? ??
To elaborate on the guy from earlier. To cheese the 800 dash challenge, download https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastclicker/, set it to Toggle, set 3.5 clicks per sec, bind it to any key (but maybe not one conflicting with ingame keybinds), turn on KBM and bind dash to mouse1. Go ingame, press toggle key. It's still a pain in the ass because it just takes so long. Hard to fail though.
And what's this about an alternate drifter, are people bullshitting? I've finished the game on Normal. Fuck NG+.
Anyone know where the bottom left corner piece of the crystal is in the north area?
I wish the chain dash actually fucking worked. I'll try to stick to a certain rhythm and this faggot just decides to slide about 3/4 of a mile when I hit about 15 or so.
Are some of these gaps meant to be jumped with that alternate drifter or something?

>>137298449
this
went north first, felt right
also what do these do
So why does the controls feel so fucking bad?
The dodge especially is so fucking unresponsive and has such a shit delay. Lets not even talk about the fact that enemies simply can hide behind the environment because the devs thought it a great idea to be so artsy with their graphix.
I am legit disappointed with this game and I will not understand people giving it a 9/10 or 10/10, which I bet it will get because MUH INDIE.
>>137300481
What I don't understand is how people who are legitimately shit at video games feel that their opinion is worth anything.

Nice ad hominem
>>137258569
Wait, if you let him die? You can save him?!
>>137300769
Alright, I'll tell you how I came to the conclusion that you are shit.
1. Dash
The dash is fine and nobody else here has problems with it, ergo the problem is you.
2. Environment
Enemies can hide behind objects, so what, so can you. If you have problems dealing with enemies that hide behind things, you must be AWFUL at FPS games.
If you're talking about the ambushes, you have the slowest reaction time on the planet, because after an enemy pops up, it takes at least a second before they'll attack.
>>137296029
Anybody?
>>137301506
Flawed question, you can obtain the triangles in any order so there is no bottom left piece specifically.
>>137301483

Ad populum + ad hominem.
>You must be AWFUL at FPS games.
>you have the slowest reaction time on the plane
Ad hominem x2
HAHA, FUCK YOU
Man, the railgun you get after the south 8-fragment door challenge is insane. I dont even know how much damage it deal because it oneshots everything I tried it on. I'm guessing it's 6 or 8 damage.
>>137302272
not him but holy shit man git gud you can deflect and deny all you want but you're garbage at the game, I use the environment to my advantage constantly and much better than the dumbass AI who doesn't even realize what it's doing
>>137302272
Ad Hominem implies there was an argument before I started insulting your skill at video games but it was there from the start. I can't deflect from the current argument by insulting you personally when that was the argument to begin with.
I'll give you the Ad Populum though, but it doesn't mean I'm wrong.
>>137302896
How about situations where you dash and you get stopped by fucking nothing or situations when you can't even see the fucking enemy.
Nice environment usage. You can cry like a bitch ass nigga, but the controls and some gameplay designs are shit.
I got enough prove by seeing other people complaining about the same thing.
If your understanding of "git gud" is mastering broken controls, then kudos to you, but they're still shit. I've never felt such a lackluster inconsistency in my entire life.
>>137303889
Could just be that the game is running at an inconsistent framerate, I've heard that causes problems, or maybe the drivers for your controller (if you're using one) are out of date.
Also
>I got enough prove by seeing other people complaining about the same thing.
Cherrypicking, two can play at the fallacy game.
>>137304227
That's not even close to cherrypicking. The evidence that its a problem isn't a fallacy.

An argument entirely built on a fallacy is a non-argument

For what possibly fucking purpose
It's not like all the music isn't there
>>137304459
But you're ignoring the people who aren't having trouble at all, that is cherrypicking.
Judging from the quality of this general I'm not surprised the threads on /v/ got shat on. You guys deserve it.
>>137304643
And you're disregarding the people who are having problems with it. You don't know what cherrypicking is.
>>137304624
Ad Hominem is DEFLECTING from the original argument with personal attacks. The original argument was whether the game was bad or you were, there was no deflection.
>>137304784
Don't you dare suggest this game is anything but perfect in every way!
>>137304227
I'm not even the "fallacy" anon.
I just told you that this problem is not "me" only, considering that I see other people getting a similar experience.
another example is me fighting the boss in the west, when the controller wills it, I get him to 15-30% in no time, because guess what, dash actually works.
When it won't will it, instantly get melted and I fucked around a lot with that. The same rhythm, the same anything. It simply is inconsistent and that ruins the gameplay.
>>137304637
I couldnt find the tune that plays during south boss fights.
>>137304924
The original argument was that the controls were bad. You committed ad hominem by attacking the poster instead of refuting the argument. It has nothing to do with deflection.
>holy shit man git gud you can deflect and deny all you want but you're garbage at the game
>>137304923
>>137305154
Alright, then how about this.

>>137147000
I just killed the final boss but I didn't fight that guy in the south, I fought three others. I guess you only need to kill three of the four?
I killed the south boss but I didn't see a weapon anywhere.
Can someone tell me where it is?
>tfw game crashed again
>>137305612
The weapon is behind the 8fragment door.
What exactly are the diamonds that are marked on my map?
Do I want them to be pink or gray?
I've beaten all but 3 bosses but still am unsure
are they upgrade nodes?
Where the fuck is this one because I can't find it anywhere
>>137306813
Pretty sure they are the pink triangles that are required for some doors. Four are required in each zone to unlock the final boss, as seen at the center of the friendly city.
Pink = still something to get there
Gray = taken
>>137306813
Pink represents a diamond you haven't gotten yet
Grey represents a diamond you have gotten
You want them to be grey
You use the diamonds to unlock doors and such

I had the upgrade and didn't use it at all during that boss fight because adrenaline wouldn't let me time hitting the button correctly to successfully perform the move
I just used the slash attack where you dash through the enemy and attack at the same time instead and shot him right after each time
I can't take screenshots with Steam.

How many crystal things are there per area? I thought it was 4 because of the 4 slots on the thing in the town, but I've found 6 in the west area so far
>>137311810
I think it's 8
4 in the center forming a diamond, then 4 on the outside of the square, each is like a half diamond/triangle

It'd be cool if we could keep these updated and get ones for the other areas.

Is there a way to get the alternate drifter or am i fucked?
I picked up the first two Dash upgrades, but I can't seem to figure them out right. I can't consistently do the continuous dash, and the shield rarely activates. I'm sure I'm missing something stupidly obvious, but for the life of me I can't quite figure out. There's a part of the East area you need to do the continual dash through, but I can't ever seem to make it.
>>137151519
This. I had no idea why people were having trouble with the bird boss until I realized there were people who haven't been shoving this thing down every throat they see.

>>137323631

>>137323176
The Projectile Shield Dash is touchy, to put it nicely. It only activates if the programming thinks there's a projectile you may collide with, and the programming to detect that is fucking garbage. Dashing straight at a projectile generally won't turn it on, but dashing a little to the side usually will, if a projectile is shot at you while you're dashing it won't be used, etc etc.
It would be an upgrade of comparable usefulness to the sword reflect if it actually worked right, but it doesn't.
As for Chain Dash, it's just timing, the first two are slower than the rhythm you eventually reach, but I tested thisby cheatingand .25 seconds is slow enough to trigger the first two, and fast enough to continuously trigger forever, but you can press it much faster when you get past your third dash.
Buy the dash attack at the sword merch or at the dash merch? What's the difference between the two? One is A+X the other is X+A
>>137324850
one hurts enemies as you pass through, the other stops at the first enemy and sends it flying backwards, dealing an additional point of damage if it collides with something
>>137325127
damn I I'm even more undecided...
>>137324850
A+X: dash forward, strike at the end of it, and jump back if your target isn't dead (doesn't work all the time, tested it on the frog boss and it worked though.)
X+A: Dash forward, through enemies, deal 2 damage to everything hit.
I'm going to buy a first upgrade any recommend?
>>137325595
Chain dash is required for many puzzles, everything else is optional.

I'm missing one purple piece in the north and it's driving me insane.
Based on this ( http://i.imgur.com/T4VAne2.png )
I shouldl be around the right area.
Anyone know where the path for it starts?
>>137329641
When he summons birds, kill them to regain shots, then blast the boss. getting too close causes him to use the + and X shaped attacks. When he starts attacking in rows across the arena, walk out of them - dodging can put you in range of another blast.
>>137329932
Nevermind I beat him, here's my strategy for anyone interested. As soon as you get control throw grenade if you have it, dash in, 2 or 3 hit him, dash out as he will +/x attack, dash back in, etc.
When you have a full gun unload it in him when you ahve the chance.
The best chance to deal damage is when he summons birds. He will stand in the center not attacking. Stand right on him and attack as the birds come, you will hit both him and the birds.
When he does the rows, it's pretty to just look at the floor grid and walk to where you won't get hit. Stay calm.
>>137329892
just after the waterfall cave with the birds, i think, run along the side of the map until your companion indicates that there is a hidden path. go slowly or it will miss it.
>>137330138
Already found the hidden path NW in the waterfall cave.
Leads to a key.
The hidden path right after the cave towards the portal leads to a purple, but I already got that one.
Thanks anyway. This world map is awful.

Go through the boss path. That arena is weird.
Clear it once, go north a bit, then come back and clear it again. A path will open to the left and you can get to that area.
Also in the NE corner of the room there's a hidden path that leads to a key.
>>137330612

South is a one big underground lab, there isnt much going on in the overworld.
There are two shards right next to each other in the south, one of them gets marked for you by the pink drifter, 2 shards in the east, 4 shards in the west, one of them is blocked by a gate that lowers when you activate the giant southern pylon.
Keep in mind that the audio queue is very important in this game for finding secrets, since the shards are making a distinct sound when you're within 1-2 screens of them.
>I've seen some comments about difficulty in our game recently. I feel we have been fairly up front about challenge in games over the past two years in interviews, at shows, talking to fans, in videos and streams, and of course with the playable preview (you could even fall off cliffs very easily in that version). We enjoy the exhilaration of overcoming an almost overwhelming challenge, and the immense satisfaction that comes with it.
>That being said, we do pay attention and listen, and we do understand. Our decisions are made with great care, after much iteration and testing. We will continue evaluating all the responses that come in as more people play.

Imo, deaths per boss is not a useful metric for determining the quality of a boss' design though I can take up toward 10 deaths if they're fair and not stunlocked-to-death-tier, like the last boss' spray-beam in this game. That said, the last boss was one of the better ones if not the best.
I rarely die more than a few times to bosses in games but still feel quite many are unpredictable/insufficiently telegraphed and can burst you from full to nothing if things align badly (like being stunlocked or knocked into a corner).
>>137346586
Spray beam is perfectly designed. It's easily predictable, but if you somehow fuck up - you die.

So, it's debatable whether these things were 'cut' or 'changed'. Burning Cavern/Sunken City can kind of fit the East Region, with the flame jets and water motif, so might've been combined into that, Ravenous Mire might be the West or whatever, it's not really clear - what is is that there was no mention of the names/planned areas of the original pitch. So 3 bonus areas on top of ? original areas could mean we got all they intended for, if they only ever planned on having one 'region'. Expanded areas is also a vague term, since there was no real description of what the areas would be for the pitch.
Challenge modes as described in their kickstarter don't really seem to be in the game, unless I just haven't come across boss rush.
Co-op, competitive, online aspects are apparently going to be fixed up and patched in, maybe? The email was pretty vague.
As for 'More Loot / Gear / Modules' - again, we have no idea what the original plan was, so what we have now could be considered 'more'.
Unfortunately from the gist of the email it does not seem like additional content will be forthcoming from the dev for the game. Just co-op/network integration for challenges or something.

So I've routed my problem with the dash challenge down to random-ish dips in frame rate.
I don't know what causes it, but every now and again it'll dip to 25fps and cause me to fuck up. It's gotten to where I can consistently get 500~ before the shit happens.
I managed to to do it once with the in-game sound turned down. It seems like the game crashes when it tries to save/load anything on some PCs when all the volume is turned off through the settings. I'm so fucking salty about it.
>>137347483
I only started it. You have a black cape, dunno what it does.
You have all your sword and movement upgrades (even if you don't have it in NG) but only 2 health. Bombs, health and weapons upgrades still need to be bought.
That's weird lag man, I just shut my eyes and counted "one two three four one two three four" over and over until it was done. Decided to see how far I could go and got bored, finished on 2016 because it was the next "special" number coming up
>>137347479
he does not refer male
>>137347590
wait only 2 health?
>>137347945
Yep, so you get killed by any strong attack, or getting shot off a cliff.
>>137348132
fuck that maybe for shovel knight it works but thats insane
>>137348196
Just gotta get good is all.
I also can't figure out what the black cape does though, if anything. I don't hit harder, my gun doesn't regenerate bullets, they don't come back faster from slashes... Stamina drain is normal.
>>137348283
i don't know what any of the fucking capes do the only one i have is the pink one and i don't know how to get the rest also i think there was a cape for backing the kick starter i'm not too sure, but i had a lot of fun with my playthrough i might take a crack at ng+ ot just wait till the other bosses get added if they ever do.
>>137347696
Yeah, I'm sure they'd refer "he" to a female.
Retard.
>>137348283
Maybe that's what limits your HP. Do you have another cape yet?
Also NG+ does nothing for me but I'd probably put some ore hours into the game if there were new fights and bosses.
>>137348459
>>137344536
Blue reduces dash and dashattack cost.
Someone said the pink one you get when the other drifter dies increases grenade damage by 1 but I've yet to confirm that.
>>137348283
>>137348492
I-frames is also something that comes to mind. Maybe after you got hit or while dashing.
>>137348492
Can't change cloaks in NG+, just unlocked the 800 dash one to check.
>>137348750
I'll try this out, maybe try dashing through one of the swooping birds since they're a constant hitbox.
>>137348750
>>137348864
I-frames do not seem to be part of the deal, unless they're so short as to be useless.
Pretty much 100% north and east, yet still no idea what these areas are and how to get to them.
>>137349281
Ok, nvm the east area, found the way.
Is this playable at all with just a keyboard and maybe a touchpad? Tho I'd really rather not use the touchpad if it's possible.
>>137349393
ur kidding, right?
>>137349393
Pretty much entirely no, unless you somehow map keys to behave as a controller, because keyboard+mouse uses the mouse as targeting for your guns and dashing which are both pretty integral to the game.
>>137348731
Blue reduces stamina cost by half looks like, it also reduces how much Heavy Slash takes.
Dunno what the yellow one does yet.
>>137349281
The North one is a little bird house where a non-faggot-wizard bird and his kids hang out. You get to it by going east along the cliff face at the first point you encounter wolves on the North path.
>>137349553
>>137349625
Alright, I see. I know like nothing about the game, just saw the launch trailer and got hyped.
>>137349698
Yeah it's kinda unfortunate, they don't have any options to customize controls, a lot of people hate how the dashing works with the mouse and keyboard.
>>137349625
how the fuck do you get blue cape?
>>137349778
North area, 10key door.
>>137349778
Do an 800 long chain dash in the upgrade shop.
>>137349809
Unless this is actually blue and I'm talking about purple, I legit can't tell.
>>137349809
>i havent even gotten one key and i already beaten the game
>>137349625
>Blue reduces stamina cost by half looks like, it also reduces how much Heavy Slash takes.
Can you idiots quit spreading misinformation? None of the outfits does anything. Chain-dashing takes so little stamina, that you'd sooner bumb into a wall than run out of it.
As of charged slash - observe the results. No difference what so ever.
>>137350192
Ok, so by "blue" you actually meant "purple" from the 800 challenge.
Yes, it does half the stamina cost.
Sorry for the confusion.
i could get used to this <- what's this mean?
>>137350341
>>137350192
Yeah sorry I kinda see purple as blue, I don't even have the actual blue cloak.
Still, that one has a tangible effect, it makes me wonder if the other colors, or the weapon/droid colors might have effects too.
Haven't really found any other actual effects though - I guess I'd tie the black cloak to the 2 health max in NG+ but there's no way to be sure since you can't change it.
>>137350456
Just ran more test.
It's actually the droid that reduces the stamina cost.
sup nerds how do I transfer my save file from one pc to another? I can't seem to get it to be recognized, same version of the game, has no problem making and loading new saves but just refuses to acknowledge the data's even there if I copy the .sav over between computers
is it keyed to the hardware or something? some reg entry I need to port over?
>>137350581
there's a reddit post abt dat
>>137350616
kthx I shoulda checked
>>137350519
I just ran a few tests as well, it's actually any of the purple color items - the effect doesn't stack but either the purple cloak, purple droid, or purple sword will do it.
I guess that means if the others do have effects, you could mix and match?
Kinda wish my cleared data didn't get deleted.
>>137350692
We need to go deeper!
Is it possible to reassign controller keys in-game? Using triangle for sword attack is annoying.
>>137351367
No, sadly not. I dunno why your sword is on triangle though, that should be Interact given the default controls.
>>137350409
Pillars with arrows on them sink into the ground once the corresponding area's boss is dead. (eg. <- for West)
>>137350192
Sorry bub, got caught up with everyone calling it blue and didn't even think about it.
I have compiled some info from this thread in a pastebin. Maybe we could gradually build a complete paste full of info.
http://pastebin.com/5mXcibUB
Do different capes, swords and drones actually change anything or is it just for looks?
>>137352502
Only one that's been confirmed for sure is the purple cape gotten by doing the 800 chain dash challenge, which halves stamina usage as seen in >>137350341
>>137352338
You're doin God's work - maybe when I actually finish adding everything to this map and collaborate to make sure I've got everything it can go in there too. Right now it's kinda jank, has all those navigation marks on it, and a hodgepodge of not all the diamonds.
>>137352338
Shard gun - east 8fragment area.
Can we agree to call the default set "red"? :3
Purple set - also halves charged slash's stamina cost.
Pink set doesnt increase grenade damage, just tested with full blue vs full pink - no difference.
I killed frog boss and got triangle or something then black eye thing killed me and now it stuck at sky blue screen with weird sound wtf?
>>137352338
The projectile shield does not require you to be missing ammo to activate. It's just some variety of buggy with its activation.
Also considering this info is kinda being discovered and updated as we go along, might want to make an account so you can continue to edit the pastebin.
>>137352338
White set - 8key door, east area.
Why does everyone hate these otter people so much.
How can I oben this :DDD
>>137344536
It unlocks the brown outfit, which is about as cool as it sounds.
>>137353401
By not being retarded and counting the triangles.
>>137353401
You need 8 pieces to open that door, Anon. It will be the last area that you can explore.
Also, maybe you can help me. I've seen webms and heard that there's a section in the east with disappearing platforms that you need chain dash in order to cross, but I can't seem to find it. Have you come across it in your explorations?

>>137353945

>>137255797
fuck.
i cant even pass those panels underground with flame traps to get a currency. i cant seem to chain dash well enough with kb+m setup.
Is this possible with chain dash?
>>137354357
Yes, you just have to be pretty precise with your directions and not miss one or else you'll slide off and it'll take you back to the start.
>>137354134
Honestly the one there is easier than the fire trap one, because failing a chain dash doesn't immediately send you flying off. In that webm I messed up like 4 times. You also don't have to be as precise about it.
>>137354058
>bet I'll be able to find brutally murdered otter bastards in the West/South too if I look around hard enough.
West has cats, that kinda survived this whole "war with AI" thing, but got corrupted in the process.
East has the most gore, thanks to the toads murdering and eating all the otters.
North has the crows, who thought turning to dark magics would save them from the robots, so not much gore there, other than an occasional sacrificial altar.
>>137354357

ravenous mire is supposed to be an extension to east area. If you look at the pre-release map that was published on Kickstarter you can see it next to the giant lake.
>>137355039
That was the positive thing for me about this game taking so many years, I totally forgot what I was even expecting, and was pleasantly surprised with what came out.
>>137353702
So far, I think that the story for each region is:
>North: Savage group of religious and "magic?" using bird folks has settled into an abandoned library.
>South: An abandoned robot assembly plant hidden beneath the desert that has gone haywire.
>East: Frog people have taken over a reservoir that was previously under the control of peaceful otter people.
>West: The site of a battle between the giant Evangelion robots and a bunch of furries. Either the Eva unleashed a terrible "crystal" weapon that has scarred the landscape, or the furries used it against the Eva and now they can't control it.

Because the corruption started in the south. The 4 were the first to be released by the dumb sandniggerlizzards.
>>137355264

in all honesty, i really wanted the part where he gets on a robot and then control it to open a door at the trailers. Its like using the robot/walker at broforce. Also reminds me of the one at Sucker punch steampunk scene. Anyone know a game that has that?
>>137355430
I love the game. I posted that in reply to all the MUH CUT CONTENT memers. Pretty much nothing was "cut" other than the online functionality like multiplayer and challenges.
>>137355467

>>137355579
Oh, i'm retarded I already bought it.
Now should i get heavy slash or an extra grenade or maybe upgrade the shotty.
>>137355570
You replied to my post, which wasn't really about stuff being 'cut', but more like 'changed' since the supposed cut content was never really defined concretely enough to call it promised to begin with.
This >>137355121 was also me - I legit love the game, I am making maps with all the stuff marked out for it, I'm trying to test color equipment to see if it does stuff, I'd say it's probably my favorite game this year.
That being said, I was hoping they'd be all about making additional content and patching it in. Not because I'm not satisfied with what's there, but because I definitely want more.
>>137355756
>replied to two guys

>>137355269
>>137355570
>>137355756
I do think its pretty shit of them to have stretch goals and then just say "hey we didn't like it so we decided not to put it in" I could of lived without the extra bosses and areas, but I was actually pretty excited for online for some extra replay value and it being cut sucks pretty hard.
>>137355969
>what is reading comprehension
They delivered on the stretch goals that had to do with maps and actual content.
Idiots like yourself read "area" and imagine a whole fucking map the size of one of the 4 we have in game.
The only goals they havent delivered are Co-op and challenge mode.
>>137355969
Well, from the backer update screenshotted here >>137355269 it seems like they're still working on co-op, or at least not ruling it out, along with network integration of some variety. It's also possible it just won't ever happen though, which would be a bit of a bummer.
As for the stretch goals, 'extra areas' is now being looked at in relation to what the final product was, which looks like a cohesive, planned whole - nothing looks 'extra'. In reality, the original game may have been planned to be much smaller, maybe 3 linear areas one after another, and ended up being 4 huge non-linear areas. We don't really know, and at this point, since we don't really have their original design document, I think I'm okay with them deviating from it and adjusting the game to fit the scope it ended up being instead of sticking with whatever their original was, and tacking on 'extras'. They probably could've avoided the potential disappointment by actually communicating better their progress and process on the game as they made it instead of repeated "we're working really hard!" emails, but you know, devs.
>>137355863
I am sure we can move past this.
>>137356280
It is not too unreasonable to be disappointed given their lack of transparency on what they actually meant to deliver throughout the process.
anyone else think the music is just... okay?
i dont know, the music at the last battle at the preview version was so good. The game falls short at that. It didn't really make any memorable art+music+scene to me. Im playing on NG+ now and cleared the entire east area. Maybe it will start clicking in. Thankfully there's alot of stuff to find.
Shit, bird area is way easier and shorter than frog area it feels weird man
>>137357149
It sounds exactly the sort of music I was expecting based on the preview disasterpeace posted on his soundcloud back in 2014, which is what I really wanted from it desu.
I haven't done south yet, but so far my favourites are North > Town > West > East
>>137357149
music was actually pretty annoying
boss tracks were just 3 second bit tunes set to repeat and having my eardrums blown out when i walk past a giant skeketon isnt fun
Seems like the white set decreases the health pickup time and health pack usage time.
Could someone else be so kind and test this?
>giving money to lunatics
>>137358439
I think you're right, though it's honestly pretty quick either way and I'm not sure if I'm just seeing it because you said it, so I'll post webms.
>>137358384
This. I actually started to hate running into giant robot corpses because as soon as I walked past one the volume would shoot up like nothing else.
Plus, with backtracking for secrets being necessary, you start to notice that it behaves the same way each time you pass through an area, which odd things happening when you start progressing through an area "backwards" sometimes.
>>137359658
do the outfit bonuses only come into effect when you wear the cape? does this mean that the companion and sword color changes are purely cosmetic and effect nothing, whereas the cape actually does provide minor bonuses?
>>137358439
>>137359658
And one with orange cloak/default droid/sword for comparison
Also of note is >>137248297 - the dead drifter has what looks like a syringe sticking out of him. If indeed white is making the heal faster, it might be that the dead drifters that have the colors might give a hint as to what the colors themselves do.
>>137359789
No, it seems like any piece of that color you wear gives you the bonus, at least that was the case for the purple cloak/sword/droid, any of the three would give the bonus, with no stack, so you could feasibly have three bonuses at the same time, if we had any idea what the colors did aside from purple and maybe white.
Also a picture of the yellow drifter's body in case >>137359806 turns out to be the case.

Purple halves stamina consumption on everything, dashes, heavy slashes, and dash attacks.
Dash attack in the sword shop is a 2 damage aoe in the direction you dash, done by hitting attack and dash at the same time. Dash stab from the upgrade shop does a quick stab coming out of a dash that knocks enemies back, doing 1 damage, and another 1 if they hit a wall. If you hit a big enemy that doesn't get bounced back, you rebound a little bit.

Does anyone else feel like dashing is unintuitive?
I keep trying to dash in the direction I'm pressing WASD while attacking in the direction of my mouse. Try as I might, I can't seem to associate my mouse's direction with both attacking and dashing. It really feels like attacking should be based on mouse cursor position and dodging should be based on the direction you're holding.
>>137368995
Yeah it makes more sense for controller, everything is the direction you're facing, there's no right stick pseudo-twin stick nonsense.
I wish they would've coded in some options for M/KB since it's bugging a lot of people.

So, regarding the ending, I'd say it's pretty straightforward, yes?Basically, he saved the land from being destroyed it seemed. Is it possible that the sickness the drifter got was placed upon them by a higher power (The dog?) to force them on a journey and save the lands?

>>137371384
Well, someone said they didn't find anything when going trough the files yesterday, but there was an update on 400+ mb a couple of hours ago so who knows. The update fixed a lot of bugs and allows you to speed up the respawn animation among other things but there's always the possibility of hidden stuff.
Maybe NG+ will do something different. There's a very real risk of there not being any alternate endings though.
Can anyone tell me if there's anywhere secret to go from here? I assume there is since the barrier is broken but I tried dashing and there's nowhere to land. Maybe I'm just paranoid with this game now because I'm pretty sure I missed a bunch of secret shit in the first area so I'm canvassing all the walls and every thing in this new area before having to backtrack.
what should I get next?
>>137371651
thats the exit from a secret accessed from the crusher blocks, hug the south wall with 3 crusher blocks earlier in that room

Hey how the fuck do I get here
please :c
>>137373421
You open the overworld map and try to get to one of the small islands that has entrances to that dungeon.
>>137371705
bombs are nice since you arent using the shotgun
>>137373421
Well, you seem to be at the right place on the map. If you go to the left, where the bomb plants are, and check left with a gun, you should be able to see one of those pillars that you can activate.
anyway to get down there or is just for show?
>1st try
I guess getting the right upgrades helped.
>>137370282
the thing thats stopping me from doing it completely is sometimes i can rush all the way till my stamina empties or just do 2 rushes and stops, idk if thats supposed to be input lag kicking in so im skipping it for now.
>>137376986
the first chain dash is always the hardest, the rest have a really loose window, the timing is when drifter flashes purple for reference
How do I get the triangle surrounded in yellow? I notice there's an invisible floor to the left of the entrance, and I get a use prompt at the end of it, but it seems to be a dead end?
>>137377538
Pic related. In the south zone, btw.
is there any reward for winning the soccer minigame?

no, not even if you ace if anon is to be trusted

print screen doesnt work for you?
thats what i use anyway
>>137370687
your ending is a bit too optimistic anon
in the end you are literally plunging your sword into the ai and it is clearly deteriorating, as is the structure which is housing it
you also see the floating area above the region disappear once you are done. i think you had to destroy the entire ai in order to cleanse it of the virus
>>137380909
yea i just use print screen
>>137381067
Yeah but I have to crop the other screen in my setup.
I thought there was a fix for this or something like that.

Just updated the game.
The screenshot shortcut works perfectly now.
Thanks for all your replys, anons.
>>137381441
But the dog is still there. That means the AI is still functioning.
How do you get to the left part there?
Also, is there a list with hidden triangles locations? I've been dicking around the northern area for a while but I only found one, and it wasn't very hidden to begin with.

guys help
I have bought the game via humble bundle store day 1. I heard several patches were released since then.
how do I get them?
>>137172187
Same problem, running on a 6 year old shit toaster though. Probably older graphics cards aren't supported
Anyone finish off the southern area recently and happen to recall how to get this shit? I need mo money for dem gun programz...
>>137384339
There's a pillar really close to the right wall a little bit south of you.
>>137384478
Sweet, thanks Anon!
What's up with this place? The hut is empty, by the way
>>137385103
i was searching around earlier and was wondering the same thing, its not so much empty as in there's a crystallized dude in there but you cant attack in there so there's no letting him out or anything either
>>137384036
GOG should have their own client. Try launching it and see if it updates the game. Although it probably should self-update.
How do you get to this?
>>137383614
There's a hidden path below the spikes, to the right. Use your interaction key when prompted.
>>137385703
Thank you.
>>137385691
theres a room you have to walk through the wall
The third is in the 8fragment area.
Anyone knows where's the 4th?
>>137386116
Forgot to mention - I'm talking about the stone text tablets.
I don't think I collected all the chips, but I'm fairly happy with the result. Pretty sure some chips can only be found with upgrades anyways.
I hope I'm ready for this.
Final Boss time GO!
>>137386015
Do you roughly know where it is regards to that screenshot? East/West to it? Ive been looking around that area for an hour.
>>137386570
how was doing the south area without the reflect upgrades anyways, i assume you're the same dude from yesterday
touhou guy pushed my shit in even with a few upgrades when i didnt have the reflect
Achievement seems to be bugged.
I got it, but still missing 1 gearbit.
>>137386570
There's 6*3(upgrades)+2*5(bomb+helath packs)+2*6(ammo)=30 chips, and you definitely need the infidash upgrade for some. 28 is p. good.
I'm currently missing literally one shard. Fuck me.
>>137386794
Actually, the South was easier than West. A lot.
Touhou guy was pretty easy if you got in close really fast. It took me two tries, then I rushed him, and he died.
Scythe guy took a while - I just couldn't get his attack pattern down. Once I did he was pretty easy, but yeah, he was probably the most difficult of the South bosses. Still not harder than the West, and I'd even say North was a tad more difficult.
The others weren't a problem - harder than Pepe, easier than Harvey Birdman.
Not quite the same guy from yesterday...I'm the guy who didn't realize what that the Yellow Chips were upgrade chips until after beating the West and then going halfway through the North. I decided just to stick with a No Upgrade Run.
Anyone find a way past this upper one yet?
>>137387412
no and ive completed the entire area, there's something very peculiar about that
>>137387412
what weapon is that? was that in the update?
>>137387647
It's the railgun. You get it from Harvey Birdman. It's necessary for a few switches.
>>137387647
That's the railgun from Birdman, I think. Not my screenshot.
Anyone find a use for the original pistol, magnum, or any of the other guns that aren't Railgun/Shotgun?
Railgun out does the Magnum in every way I can think of. Instant, Pierce, Aiming, same damage, same ammo.
Shotgun shoots 15 bullets with full/unupgraded ammo, while original pistol only shoots 6.
I enjoy the guns, and I REALLY like the ammo charging mechanic so that they're not OP (though Shotgun still is OP against bosses), but they don't seem balanced at all.
>>137388172
the pistol can be rapid fired at the very least, the magnum seems to be completely useless in comparison to the railgun, i was thinking maybe if you could rapid fire it it could have use, but you cant
>>137386790
Anyone?
>>137388172
I used pistol heavily in the northern area to get rid of bird kamikazes. Other than that, yeah, it suffers from a "Starter Weapon" syndrome. Has its uses but gets overclassed by other weapons eventually.
>>137388331
It's on the other side, the wall to the left of the item can be walked through. Figure out in your head where the room on the other side of the wall is.
>>137388172
the pistol is the best weapon, senpai. you can instantly cancel out of a pistol shot into a sword swing, and repeat this infinitely without losing ammo whereas the other weapons cost too much. i can kill 6-8HP mobs before they have enough time to even take a swing at me and still have full ammo afterwards
I have torn the southern area apart looking for these two crystal shards. I have cleared the area of mobs twice.
Please deliver me from this struggle.
>>137385103
there is a gearbit behind that tree.. if you didn't check.
>>137388770
I just got the one on the right(>>137377747). Check the upper left of that room, there's a hidden path to the left of the turret.
>>137388172
nope, pistol and magnum are pretty damn outclassed. pistol can be rapid fired against the birds and dogs, but usually a sword slash takes care of it (and shotgunning groups of birds works better)
In fact, let's fix the gun system.
>pistol
Autofire + 2 more ammo.
>Magnum
Splash damage
>Railgun
Damaged reduced by half
>Shotgun
Reduce damage to bosses by half
>>137388770
i feel you anon. i'm missing 2 in the north and 2 in the south. i'm just going to go finish the game, i think. apparently there's no special ending for getting them all anyways
>>137385103
I hate that shit, there are a couple of gearbits hidden behind objects and the only way to tell they're there is by slashing like a madman and listening to the sound the chip makes.
>>137388950
even after beating the game you can go around and look for all the stuff if you want, i beat the game and now am working on 100% the rest
The fact that dashing on KB+M is bound to the mouse cursor as opposed to the movement direction irks me so much. I hope they'll patch it eventually.
>>137389072
>hidden path just barely visible
that's good
>hidden path / box there's no possible way you could have known about if you weren't already accustomed to hugging the walls and slashing in the dark
that's bad
>>137388934
>Magnum
>Splash damage
Already does that.
>Railgun
>Damaged reduced by half
So 1 damage? Trash.
This is pretty much a hail Mary, but can anyone tell where I can find monolith #12?
>>137389279
its instantaneous damage, it has lazershot accuracy, infinite range, it does explosive damage at the endpoint, and you get 8 shots. it shoots faster than the shotgun. I think one damage would be in order.
>>137389279
>Magnum already does splash damage
The radius is so small it definitely doesn't seem like it. At least double the radius size then - I've never even seen it hit two enemies.
>Railgun
>1 Damage
>Pierce
>Instant
>Targeting
This is perfectly fine.
>>137388550
Found it, I have the worst brain in the history of men.
>>137389354
Somewhere in the east. Check the map.
>>137389279
Magnum's current splash damage is shit, which is why it needs an upgrade.
And 1 Damage Railgun is still fantastic - everything about it makes it the best gun, 2 damage is just the cherry on top currently. Taking away that cherry isn't a big deal.
>>137389772
I'm retarded, forgot to include the map.
>>137389767

>>137387320
I beat all the other bosses on my first go.
Touhou guy took about 10 tries.
On the tenth I opened with a grenade, which killed all his little goys and seemed to leave him stunned. Then I slashed him repeatedly.
Then he moved away and I dashed after him and slashed him repeatedly, killing all his drones before he could send them out.
Then he moved away and got his drones out and I grenaded him. Then I slashed him repeatedly and he died.
I have never had a boss give me so much trouble but then prove to be so easy.
>>137390956
I am assuming you meant keys not guys. I found a guide on the steam guides which has a good few of them but otherwise I just found them by luck. Some keys are locked behind key doors remember.
