Hell, I'm not even talking about Sith Lord Darth Nox with his uncanny aptitude for Force Lightning and various other force powers (with his Sorcerer spec being capable of both healing and dealing severe damage), equipped with his lightsaber, a brilliant mind, merciless demeanor, with Lord Kallig’s spirit guiding him, so he has a natural resistance to force ghosts.
I’m also not talking about Ghost Absorbing Rival of Darth Thanaton Darth Nox with the ghost eating ritual (which is capable of binding ghosts to him, giving him their power), his amazing presence (which allows him to manipulate even Jedi like Ashara to follow him, and grants him access to an entire cult of devout followers) and an unrivaled thirst for force secrets, capable of driving him towards the discovery of ghosts with near deity like levels of power, equipped with his lightsaber (capable of using the most powerful strike in Sith history, the “upper right to lower left” execution strike) and a Force Focus that improves his already magnificent powers, a companion (such as his also impressive Apprentice, a Jedi he corrupted, and a space pirate that sounds an awful lot like Steve Blum), control of multiple powerful factions and allies across the empire, force spells that can protect him and his allies from harm, and more than enough wealth to buy any allegiance he could possibly care about. Pretty much this. The Sith Empire's main advantages when told in the fluff is they spent over a thousand years building up their military and Sith ranks to fight the Jedi and Republic military. The early game talks about how the Sith had an advantage of being a really autocratic, orderly, and extremely militaristic society compared to the Republic.
Also if you remove the Sith, they lose everything. The Empire for all its success is still smaller then the Republic. And even counting the time which gave both sides several decades to recover after the Treaty of Coruscant, the Empire is stretched thin even as far as the end of RoTHC in Chapter 4 by Marr's own words.

Pretty much. Marauders and Sentinels operate exactly the same, just as Juggernauts and Guardians or Sorcerers and Sages or even Shadows and Assassins do.

I haven't played in a while so the names might be wrong, but when you're alacrity boosted and use that armor penetration buff. You can get off a buffed ravage and a damage proc'd annihilate(I think? The one with a purple attack icon that replaces force shout) in one go which usual hits for 25-40k damage not including the short time it takes to proc everything before hand(which usually makes up about 12-18k damage) on opponents unaware and not defending themselves. The trick really to snipe people you've seen already use their defensives.
You won't get AoE tier levels of DPS but your single target damage can be collossal. Far from the best though, just a very fun class. Who knows though, a good player might be able to wreck shop with it if I could do that kind of damage.

I didn't bow on any of the characters that I've gone through KotFE with so far but feel like kneeling on my BH. My pub characters wouldn't have any reason to kneel and on the imp side I chose the ghost ending for my IA so it's not like I was particularly loyal anyways.
