Time to rate all the bosses so far:

5/10. A mediocre intro boss fight. Nothing spectacular. Nothing truly memorable. Its Old King Doran design is forgettable, and whatever challenge it has is largely halved thanks to parry and riposting being possible. The best tutorial boss fights are still Cleric Beast/Father Gascoigne.

5/10. Yet another case of "stand underneath the big boss in order to trivialize". Too little health. Not aggressive enough. Many of its attacks leave it completely wide open (like its breath attack). Would have been a 4/10 if it weren't for the god-tier Motoi Sakuraba track in the second half.

3/10. An HP sponge snorefest. You basically hit the weaknesses Zelda style. Half the difficulty is the camera. The other half is from acid rain attacks that he likes to spam. Second half is completely a let down, because instead of birthing a great beast, only a hand comes out.

1/10. Nice arena. Nice music. Everything else is shit. Worse than Prowling Magus. Worse than Celestial Emissary. Worse than Royal Rat Vanguard. One of Miyazaki's shittiest fights. A complete mess. Inexcusable.

5/10. Yet another case of hitting the weaknesses. Also, another case of the camera being half the boss fight. They couldn't make a solo boss fight with an interesting enough moveset, so they gave him skelly and bonewheel adds just like Skeleton Lords in Dark Souls 2. I give it one extra point for having a cool as fuck jumpscare intro.

7/10. A nice, solid fight. Cool moveset that requires a lot of careful spacing and dodging to beat. Lovely, atmospheric music. Only weakness is that its bottom and between legs are still blindspots.

8/10. A cool Lady Maria-esque second half ruined by a pointless first half. He's Artorias but on anime steroids. Not the most challenging fight, but at least it has a very good moveset and great atmosphere.

It never really clicked before now. I didn't make the connection between the dark soul and humanity, I thought they were different concepts. But then remembering the living humanities in The Abyss it all makes sense now. The reason why the curse exists and why undeads turn hollow is because they're being sapped of their dark souls. Humans were growing in number and thus power. Power because the dark soul gains strength as the number of humans increases and it is nurtured. They eventually would've overshadowed Gwyn and the first flame that was waning at the time, so Gwyn devised a plan to cripple the humans and keep the first flame alive. The age of dark wouldn't be an age of hollows, they'd be hollows at first but eventually new humans with their humanities intact would show themselves.

So far from watching the streams nothing is coming close to them, Gascoignes theme is already topping the DS3 track and that one was low tier compared to Gherman, Maria, Ludwig, Amygdala and so on, and they are only as repetitive as how long you face the boss, every song has to have a tone and keep that tone throughout the whole time the player is fighting it, so far in DS3 the boss soundtrack is jumbled and it feels it doesn't know where to belong.

I never said repetitive, i said drag for too long, look at cleric beast, it's solid 7 fucking minutes, when i try to hear the fucking song while doing something else not even 3 minutes in i already stopped hearing the song because it doesnt know when to stop, while pulling every trick in the book of souls songs like whispers, violin build ups, chanting etc.. and making me forget what the song was like in the 1st place and they hold the highs for too long, in the heat of the battle it might work but while hearing it casually it just stops being exciting after the 10 seconds you hold onto that note.
DaS3 so far for me starts subsided and gets high only when necessary while being succinct.

The game shows a lot of problems already
>too linear
>too short
>a lot of areas have underleveled enemies
>A LOT of bosses have far too little health (Iudex, Vordt, Beacons) OR their gimmicks is too strong against them (Wolnir, Yhorm, Greatwood)

It's a really mixed bag so far, all i can say is that it's better than DaS2, which is not saying much.
