If you are level 200, create a new row between the non level 200 pawn, and whoever the other level 200 pawn is.

Pilgrim Gauntles have 2 spawns, one with Banshees and one with Hellhounds, 4 saurians with banshees, 3 with hellhounds.
Black Abbey have only one, which is also an uncommon spawn, 4 saurians with a Drake.
Forsaken Cathedral also may have Pyre Saurians, i think they are 5 and spawns along goblin shamans and eliminators.
these are all the spawns i know of in BBI 2.0.

Yeah but you have to aim specifically for increasing your bestiary knowledge, and not just, you know, regularly play the game.
I would have never found out gold knights resurrect silver knights if I didn't go to the bestiary entry because they're trash tier enemies that get obliterated with a light breeze if it's holy enchanted.
Also has anyone ever used a fucking oil flask to tar enemies? Or....doused a flaming wolf?
If there were more knowledge scrolls, or any other kind of hints about your available tactics I wouldn't really mind, but still, it all feels sloppy to me

So, new to the game, and I just went through the Shadow Fortress mission where you have to open the gates for the soldiers to enter. Has anyone else completely cleared out the playing field with the ballista you find on the other side of the broken bridge? Because I managed that on my second try (after getting hit through a wall by a cyclops club).
Also, apparently the normal bolts can shoot the exploding bolts out of the air. That was some funny-ass shit right there, and it made killing the second enemy ballista feel like a minigame all on its own. Hitting hobgoblins with exploding bolts was extra hilarious, too.
Please tell me there are more ballistae in the game besides those three. I need them!

I will most likely still be playing this game. Alternating between DDDA, LeL and TW3 since i just got it recently on GOG, then ill wait for the DaS3 DLC. It's also funny when people give so much credit to the Souls games for going so seamlessly from concept art to in-game, when Dragon's Dogma's dungeons are pretty close to Demon's Souls in terms of environmental props, ambient noise, and atmosphere.

I had 94 on the kill count before I hired Onyx. I ended up at 382. According to the pawns hired sheet, Onyx was in my party for six hours. During the time I had her with me, I did nothing but go back and forth into The Black Abbey trying to get the damn lizards to respawn.

This is not an MMO, man, it's an action game. You're not gonna be calmly selecting skills in succession. You're gonna be running around dodgeing shit and aiming and firing a bow and attacking people with daggers. It's not RTS.

KB+M is 100% fine in Dragon's Dogma. Also Assassins aren't difficult at all, they're really powerful and they have the best offensive stat growth in the game (leveling up as different classes gives you varying amounts of stats per level up), so they're the go-to class for any physically oriented character.
That being said, Strider becomes incredibly fun at later levels, be sure to try it out.

generally speaking is because they have relatively lower defensive stat growths compared to other classes. They can do absurd amounts of damage, but their top end is by climbing on top of enemies and hitting weak spots. Climbing can sometimes be really difficult and incredibly dangerous.

For a fighter, blink strike is an awesome skill, gets you into melee quick, and the dash will knock most human and slightly bigger sized enemies over, good to break up groups. Hindsight slash is a great move, since it does damage and has invincibility frames. When you hit rank 9, you get access to dragon's maw, which is awesome. It has a fairly lengthy duration during which you do tons of damage and are invincible.
For shield skills, there are two that I really like. Sheltered assault is a great skill, basically the fighters version of the daggers classes hundred kisses. You raise your shield and rapidly stab repeatedly. You block damage from the front, and the hits are fast. Against a downed enemy's weakpoint, it won't last long. The other skill is cymbal onslaught. Although it doesn't do as much damage as the other abilities, it's strength lies in the face that it does bash damage. Bash damage will stagger enemies fast, and it will take down any skeleton type enemy in only a few hits, where as you'd be chopping away with a sword for 6 or 7 hits.

Have a good one brotato. Just be sure, once you get into the game, to diversify your party a bit. Some enemies are resistant to physical/magick (eventually, some enemies are immune to physical or magick). Nothing too crazy early on, but it never hurts to get used to party composition.
And don't get discouraged by the bandits on the way to the witchwood, they are a pain in the ass, just run past them if you need to, no shame in it, since they're fucking level 20~ and you'll encounter them in the low teens.

You'd have to work very hard to get banned from DDDA. As in needing to buy a new copy variety of banned.
General rule of thumb: don't use mods that modify stat growths for default classes. That will mark your pawn down as "corrupt" and be rendered unrentable if your pawn levels up while the mod is installed. Cosmetic mods are 99% A-Okay to use.
You can modify pawn stats with certain mods, but if you absolutely must do so, then use a stat growth calculator to calculate a valid stat set so that your pawn won't get marked as having corrupted data.

Assassin has a wide variety of playstyle options. I tend to find the Sword/Bow Assassin funner than the other options, though all of the weapon combos are pretty nice.

Been out of the game for some time so this might be old news, but

Utilitarian also seemed to gradually drop after most kills, possibly if a foe's weakness was not exploited in that encounter, it will drop slightly, but don't quote me on that. Also rudimentary testing of Pioneer versus Guardian seems to agree with the leash range theory, allowing pawns to operate at a further distance from the Arisen. Unsure at the moment if it's confined to primary/secondary inclination standings or if the lesser hidden values also influence it. Will do more but for now working on more damage formulas, if anyone has any specific interest in anything else regarding inclinations just ask.

Owners of Cass and Ellie rest up, I hope the server didn't eat any of your stuff.
Cass has a very nice skill loadout with effective synergy between skills, it's nice to see you didn't put in a 3rd shield skill; sometimes less is more. She was aggressive and super tanky, exploiting enemy weaknesses without hesitation. I'd recommend trying to find a sheltered fusillade ring whenever you can. In regards to sleep, I'd say it's not really worthwhile, in fact I'd say the same for most of the debilitations in this game. Sleep is useful against one enemy, and being awake isn't going to block his scythe unfortunately. A savior ring would serve well to give her the extra stamina she needs to use her skills more (dragon's maw) and some more hp, especially seeing as she hasn't spent much if any time as a yellow vocation. For these reasons I'd rank Dragonblood pretty low on the ring tier list. It was introduced before Dark Arisen, meaning before Gold Rarifying was a thing, so eventually if you fully upgrade all her gear she will already have a substantial amount of resists. All in all, very impressed, would hire again.
Ellie was pretty efficient at doing what I think you were trying to achieve, which is a Tenfold spammer, correct me if I'm wrong. Especially against larger foes like cyclopes and the like, she definitely favoured her bow. She didn't seem to utilize Advanced Trigger as much as she probably could have, especially against humanoid/goblin enemies. I feel like this is due to how the damage scaling works, being that it doesn't actually deal any fire damage (which humanoids are generally weak against) unless there is magick damage present in the weapon stats, via enchants or hybrid weapon. The majority of the time she was a murdering machine though, unleashing torrents of tenfolds at most enemies and staying out of harms way. Likewise I'd probably chuck a Savior Ring on her or a good hp/str master ring. Will have a spot on the ranger rape train when she gets to 200.
