>What is Pokken Tournament?
Pokken Tournament is a game made by Namco Bandai that is a blend of Tekken and action-fighting games like the Naruto Shippuden series made by the same developer.
>So what are the basics?
You have three basic attack buttons: Weak, Strong, and Pokemon Attack.
Using certain button combinations you can use Counter Attacks or Grabs which can counter attack moves or grab a blocking/shielding opponent respectively.
These form a triangle:
Counters beat Basic Attacks, Grabs beat Counters, and Basic Attacks beat Grabs. Guarding protects against everything but grabs, but certain attacks will do a small amount of damage even through guard.
In Field Mode your weak attacks are typically projectiles and strong attacks are typically melee attacks that track/home. In Duel Mode, weak attacks and strong attacks are both typically melee and not tracking.

Field Mode is the initial stage of combat where you may move your pokemon freely, and Duel Mode is the second stage of combat that is more akin to other fighting games where you fight on a 2D playing field. You can attack on wake up vs garchomp's special grab. I've tested it, you end up more or less clashing with the red effect that normally appears when you attack a grabber. If you use your fastest attacks after the clash, garchomp gets beat out unless he has a support that he can mash out since he cant counter attack or stone edge in time

I'm still getting the hang of Gengar, I mostly use Chandelure. And no problem, I'd suggest going into the combo dojo for any mon you want to try since it does show the hypnosis->grab combo. Hypnosis also goes straight into a burst attack as long as the enemy isn't on the ground recovering. Lag wasn't too noticeable until that last match.

Cresselia/Resharaim is a pretty vanilla set a lot of people tend to use.I accidentally triggered her twice in those games when I meant to use burst. Finger just hit the L button a second too early.
The fennikin set is actually pretty good for Braixen since it offershima good amount of coverage if your opponent gets too close.
