The PAL Point machine is mostly for getting evolution materials and EXP fodder (the metal-colored dragons). The various colored Orbs are the most important to keep saved, since they're quite rare and are necessary for many of the highest evolutions. Angelits, Devilits, and the three colored Dragon Fruits are also important to keep since they're hard to farm in the beginning.
