A bunch of people left so we got newer players, which lowered our overall level since we didn't impose a level requirement. So if you're looking at the data dump, that's why our levels went down.
Everyone's logged in within the past two days, minus two people who have been gone for 5 and I'd kick them if we had people to fill the spots immediately, but we don't, and we aren't even 30/30 full.
If you're referring to leveling of elemental boats, not much I can really do there. Shit is slow, and I'm not sure how many people actually donate normal weapons to the boat.
If you have some other issue I'm missing (which is possible because I'm retarded), feel free to point it out.

When your sword can't penetrate thick armor it's sometimes better to just use the crossguard as a club. Blunt weapons are better because of the force exerted transferring better than a cut, at least against plate.

Depending on the power of your guild, as a new player your primary goal in a Guild Wars is to give the strong members of the guild something to usefully spend their BP on.
Basically, just open your raids up to the guild and let someone slaughter it for points. If you're opening way more than people have BP for, maybe open the odd one public (no one will get guild contribution points for that, now) then return to opening them to the guild after a bit.
Really it just depends on what your guild's member list and activity is like.
