It's explained in SK2.
Basicallyshe's sealed in an orb and made to destroy demons every hundred years or whatever. She starts off as a child, but grows more powerful by eating demon orbs, once she reaches full power she explodes, killing everything in a giant area and is then resealed within the orb. Asuka and Homura beat her up because they don't want to get vaporized, they fight her to a draw I guess and she's only stopped by her bodyguard, Naraku butting in and asking her to stop.

Well, from a gameplay perspective she was a villain so she was fated to lose.
From a lore perspective(anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)Kagura resurrects as a useless kid every hundred years of so and only powers up/ages when she eats enough yoma orbs. The only way to get those orbs is to rip them out of dead yoma(I'm pretty sure half the plot of SK2 revolved around kill yoma, watch Kagura eat their balls). The problem being when she eats too many yoma orbs she explodes like a nuke. She was "beaten" by Homura and Asuka going into their super forms but only really stopped when her only friend Naraku basically told her that she wanted both of them to live.

When you dub something, I feel like putting more effort into localization is fine, but when it comes to subs, especially for such a weeb niche game, most of us at least have some sort of familiarity with Japanese culture and language to where that stuff is kind of unnecessary.
Also, as someone who knows a decent amount about linguistics/languages in general, I can't stand when they arbitrarily try to pick dialects from the translation language to match the one in the original language, especially when it's through text only and therefore prone to all sorts of inconsistencies where sometimes the translators will be aware of a sound change and mark it in the text but in other cases won't notice it and leave it written in standard. It's a tough situation, though, because if you don't show that they're speaking another dialect, it's sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't type thing.

The Double Girl's Heart missions have some unlikely team-ups as well, likeMiyabi and Yumi, Murakumo and Hikage fighting off mooks while challenging each other to a word game, Yagyuu and Shiki going out for a night on the town, Ikaruga and Yomi teaming up against Hibari and Minori(two big kids who started heckling Ikaruga and Yomi during their super hero show performance), etc.
A lot of people ask for more interaction between characters that normally don't interact with each other and a lot of the DLC missions include that.

If you want a quick lesson in why it's a bad idea to give super armor to cpus, look no further than to fight Mirai on hard where she's practically untouchable because any time a projectile hits you at any range you get stunned

High combo strings is a very important factor. Getting hit fewer times isn't as big a deal but it certainly helps.
Probably the most important part of getting A ranks is doing missions as fast as possible. Speed is the most important part of ranks

Between the knockback after the 4th hit and the 5th hit where you mash, your target doesn't take damage for just enough time to be able to recovery jump away, and the 5th hit has such low range that it usually doesn't connect with your target even if they don't jump away. And on top of that, the end of the 5th hit where Yagyuu fires projectiles to launch your target into an aerial rave almost always misses so you can't even launch your target if you manage to finish a full combo string.
It boggles my mind how something like this can slip through balancing the game, Yagyuu is much better untransformed from my experience because of this.
