Assassin's Fist was cool and the new Resurrection is probably gonna be too. Street Fighter II V anime was cool too but completely different from the game with different interpretations for the characters and plot. There are some anime movies that I haven't watched yet but people seem to like. Udon publishes SF comics too. None of what I just said is canon though.
For canon material, there is the "Street Fighter: World Warrior Encyclopedia Hardcover" as a guide (the wikis aren't that reliable, and the massive guide on gamefaqs is not reliable too). Other than that play the games, the canon order is 1 -> Alpha 2 -> Alpha 3 -> 2 -> 4 -> 5 -> 3 second impact -> 3 third strike. The events of 1, Alpha and 2 are being kinda retconned and merged by 4 and 5 though, 4 was almost a soft continuity reset. For SF4, you also have the anime "The Ties That Bind" and the "Street Fighter 4 Aftermath" trailer that tells the end of SF2, both canon and released with 4.

You forget the absolute dogshit startup on sLK (5f, the same as most medium pokes of the same range) and sHK, the fact that sLK cannot link into anything outside of counterhit and the fact that FANG has no 3 frame move means you might as well be minus after sHK against anyone who has one can jab you out. sMP is a great poke, but its his only worthwhile poke outside of cMP in a game where the majority of the cast have even better pokes (Chun li's everything, birdies sMP and sMK etc etc)
Im not a FANG player, but i did pick him up for a while before coming to terms with the fact that he is dogshit and dropping him. Dhalsim and Chun totally outclass him with their pokes, pressure and setplay.
There is no reason to play FANG easily the worst character in the game hands down.

Her command grab is like Necalli's (his is slower than Laura's at 8 frame start-up) in that you only use it against people who are just blocking. Her target combo is actually safe and leaves her at only -2. That's better than a lot of the other target combos in this game which are flat out unsafe on block.

The point is that after sMP, fangs disadvantage is big enough that its their opponents "turn" and FANG cannot press any buttons afterwards or else he will be hit or worse CC'd. This means that a good player can expoit the shit out this fact and easily get in on FANG. Stick out a button after sMP and you will be hit, or jumped in on, don't and you can be dashed in on. FANG loses the game as soon as anyone gets in so having this button be so minus is terrible especially given he cant get anything off it like other characters can (birdie sMP cancels into headbutt for an easy buffer/confirm).

No. You're thinking of Quick Max, but it's nothing like that. It's basically a pseudo RC that doesn't return you to neutral, it just makes the recovery of a move faster. It does not auto dash or anything else, it doesn't give you cancels like 02 or XIII, the activation gives you faster recovery on whatever you activate on.

Rashid is pretty original as a sf character, that's why he's so popular, maybe you're from middle-east and he's normal to you but most people find him original.
