There's not much to do a tutorial for. The enemies are just more aggressive and a bit tougher with some resistances (and more HP even after the nerf, I think). The infection cores work a little differently in that they aren't weak points and can spread to other enemies, but are also breakable. The quests also allow you to go immediately to where the group is fighting.
Other than those odd quirks, it's basically the same as the rest of the game: mow down anything in your way.

How to fix gathering: give use for everything you find, not just a select few objects. client orders that will only appear once every 3 weeks is not a good way to incentivize it. More rings, less required exp to cap rings, remove lambda grinder requirement for > 10 grinds because it's fucking retarded. Lower cost of gathering during fever to half or even a third so you can actually get more than 2 mines done before you run out of energy. Raise the speed at which stamina recovers.

It's poor design. Even with 7 characters gathering I've had to resort to title rewards to get enough sapphires to max a ring.
